It’s been fun showing objects for the What is This? challenge, but since this is the end of the month, it seemed time for something new – a Building challenge.
However, this building is a place visited by many at one time or another. It’s located some 18 miles from our home and we passed it today, hence this challenge.
NOTE: This challenge is open to everyone EXCEPT folks who live on the Eastern Shore – you know who you are – Possum, Marty, Diana. Since you all KNOW this building, please refrain from participation (pretty please).
Hint: It is a public place, but the architecture does not define its purpose. Alas, there is no information on the building or the file name to give it away (on purpose).
Check tomorrow for the answer – you may be surprised!

Interesting, my first thought was, 'hospital' - but......the window design bothers me in that respect. Second thought was a mortuary....In short, I don't have a clue. I see it's well covered with security cameras, and the antennas on the roof may well indicate another use. (Copshop)? Enough. Grin.
Hmmm, a mental institution? old folks home?
Thanks Rusty and Lois...the surprising answer later tonight.
To me it has that hospital feel as well but the windows almost have a religious orientation to them, like a temple or mosque. I don't usually see those in such tall forms. The bicycle rack for commuters is an intersting clue.
I will guess library!
It looks just as ugly as our hospitals, but I´m guessing that it´s a library :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
It might be a court house but I am just supposing. The Retirement Chronicles is where she has a photo contest once a month. It is fun to enter, no prizes, just fun.
I clicked to enlarge and it is not a bike rack. So I want to change my guess to the courthouse? Just a guess.
Hi Folks - hoping to get the answer shown later tonight, but my desktop PC is busy downloading and installing map updates to our GPS and I don't dare interrupt it cause it has been known to stop and then I have to restoart the entire process. A photo of the answer is on the desktop PC.
Hi dogsmom, welcome to our blog and thanks for taking part in this challenge - my first building one. I will be stopping in to visit you blog later tonight. Please do come back again - at least to see what this place really is :-)
Christer, didn't know you have ugly hospital buildings :-) thanks for the guess.
Hi Larry, not saying yet...thanks for letting me know about the photo contest at The Retirement Chronicles. I'm going to start a separate photo blog very soon and plan to participate from that site.
We used our GPS for the first time Sunday. Had fun making intentional wrong turns to see how it would respond. Only once did it tell me to Back Up as soon as possible. That was fun.
The man never listens to me giving him map directions. Why did he buy a machine to replace me?
