In all the years that I’ve been bird watching from our kitchen window, back yard and other places, I never participated in this event. And, the weather here (VA eastern shore) this weekend is warm enough to be outdoors doing this count.
Not only is this a fun event that will get you outdoors, but there’s prizes – birdfeeders, books, t-shirts, caps – everyone has a chance to win since it’s going to be a drawing from among all participants.

We had that a couple of weeks ago and naturally it was one of those really warm days so I had almost no birds by my feeders :-) :-) :-)

i got 11species and 211 birds in the 15 minute count.
Our village birding club had their count a few weks ago, all is good ! Awesome photos and post. have a great day !
Hi, "B" counts the birds all year. He, also, does the yard count. If you wish, you need only count the birds you recongnize. Love your pics of the birds. But, then of course, you always take wonderful pics. LYF, Marty

I participated for the first time last year, and have been watching my feeders again this year. We don't get a lot of variety here in February, so I don't expect I'll see anything unusual.
And B will take a picture of each and every one. :)
Elaine, I spent a couple of hours on the back porch this afternoon and didn't see very many birds - maybe they took Sunday off?
