That's the best way to describe the fruit growing in the F&P orchard, which includes peach, pear, and apple trees.
While this year's fruit output is uncertain because of lack of rain and extremely hot temps, we're hoping for enough fruit to make a cobbler or pie. The peach trees are overloaded now, but none are ready for picking and quiet a few have already fallen off.
This week, we gathered up most of those and placed them in a paper bag, hopefully to promote ripening.
And, when (and if) we get enough for Grenville to bake one of his specialty peach pies, y'all are invited for dessert. (Just let Grenville know who's bringing the vanilla ice cream.)

How wonderful to have your own fruit trees?
Small town livin' is the only way to go... well, my way anyway. hahahaha
yum yum yum, that is one yum for each fruit.. and yuuuummmy for peach pie... mother used to make killer peach cobblers and pear cobblers.. and apple crisp....
Mmmm, peach pie! I love anything peach. We have a peach tree that we can see from our dining room. We watch the squirrels come and grab the green peaches so never get any ripe ones for ourselves. In our case, watching the squirrels is entertainment enough.
It's hard to be patient once they get to this stage. Mmmm, pie!
Fresh fruit right from the tree how wonderful ! Thanks for sharing ! Have a peachy day hehe !
Really nice that you have fruit trees! We have two crabapple trees. lol
Check out my recipe for no churn ice cream and you can make your own! But don't tell anybody, because then you won't get any.
I saw on the news that the peach crop in Georgia is not doing good because of too much rain. A happy medium everywhere would be nice. When you do get some peaches and Grenville makes a pie, can't you just send my piece UPS?
Forget the peach pie...make peach cobbler instead...OMG!!!!...:)JP
Hi, Beatrice. Thanks for visiting my blog today. I'm not really a train guy . . . I just gave Lois some suggestions in my region because it appears that her husband and she have strong interests in train travel.
