Seeing Double

NOPE, it’s not a re-touched, manipulated or cropped image, folks — it’s SOOC or straight out of the camera — and it really happened as these 2 female cardinals patiently waited their turn at the feeder last week.  It was shot indoors from the kitchen window.
seeing doubleWhile it’s not unusual to see up to 6 to 8 male and female cardinals gathered on this tree, this nearly duplicated pose seemed amazing.

OFTEN, the best shots happen when least expected.

Yes, very nice. We have several sets of Cardinals here, too. Very nice to see them all together. I suspect they are an extended family.

Not very long that their call will change and they separate into pairs.

That's a great catch! The cardinals are beautiful birds and one of my very favorites. They really brighten up the winter landscape.

Fantastic photo ! I find it hard to get two of any of them let alone side by side great job ! Yes we have 4 male and three females here and the males are singing their spring mating song now and so are the Goldfinch! Thanks for sharing with us . Have a good day !

Excellent photo...I was surprised to see cardinals in MS too. I think of them as our northern birds.

Great shot! I like the lady cardinals as much as the males. They are elegant and graceful birds.
