NOPE, it’s not a re-touched, manipulated or cropped image, folks — it’s SOOC or straight out of the camera — and it really happened as these 2 female cardinals patiently waited their turn at the feeder last week. It was shot indoors from the kitchen window.
While it’s not unusual to see up to 6 to 8 male and female cardinals gathered on this tree, this nearly duplicated pose seemed amazing.
OFTEN, the best shots happen when least expected.

That's pretty cool! Double Vision. LOL
WOW! Just gorgeous!
Yes, very nice. We have several sets of Cardinals here, too. Very nice to see them all together. I suspect they are an extended family.
Not very long that their call will change and they separate into pairs.
Very neat image!
That's cool! Nice catch. I love females cardinals. They are so beautiful!
Beautiful!
Have a great day!
Christer.
That's a great catch! The cardinals are beautiful birds and one of my very favorites. They really brighten up the winter landscape.
i keep expecting them to burst into the song Stop In the Name of Love, before you break my heart...
Fantastic photo ! I find it hard to get two of any of them let alone side by side great job ! Yes we have 4 male and three females here and the males are singing their spring mating song now and so are the Goldfinch! Thanks for sharing with us . Have a good day !

Excellent photo...I was surprised to see cardinals in MS too. I think of them as our northern birds.
How sweet. You sure must enjoy the birds. I know I would.
Great shot! I like the lady cardinals as much as the males. They are elegant and graceful birds.
