Today was parking lot day. Since we are out of trees and the next shipment will not be here till next Tuesday we worked on the future parking lot. My day was spent helping to install the guard rail. Each post is 6x6” and the rails are 2x10”. These are full size rough cuts and treated to marine grade, not the nice trimmed stuff you get at the lumber yard. The heavy treating is needed due to the closeness of the Atlantic Ocean and the near constant salt breeze. By the end of the day we had finished the left side of the road and had started setting posts on the right side. Each side will accommodate 8 cars. At the end of the lot we will be installing a set of gates to restrict vehicles any further. As the day went on we were treated to the formation flying of Snow Geese.
Through out the day we got to watch hundreds of Snow Geese head south then north then south again. These shots are just a few of them. Usually when they come overhead the sky will be filled with them.

I haven't gone far enough back into your blog to know, so pardon my asking, but why all the parking spaces?
A good job done too even time for a spot of geese watching.
are you in coastal Georgia? why all the parking
oops just saw your weather bug is set to onley VA and i think i knew that
I am not sure what you are building either. Guess it is time for an update, you are getting lots of new readers! I do know that after a day of setting posts you can be very sore and tired. Hoping you get a nice soak in a hot tub after.
I have been hearing geese but not getting to watch formations yet.
Those poor geese couldn't make up their mind, could have been searching for a stopping point.
Hi Grenville....you really was in the posting mode wasn't you...post at work ..post on computer!!

Good to see geese and will be glad to see them here..then I'll hang up my snowshoes!!
The parking lot looks good!
It won´t be long until my sky looks just the same filled with migrating geese, swans and cranes :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
You accomplished a lot. Looks like hard work. We hear geese fly over head every once in a while here, but usually just a few at a time. We don't have so many at a time like you do.
