Welcome Visitors

The welcome bird visitors have returned to our feeders, even though there are still those unwelcome visitors — starlings. These images were captured last week from the Frog & PenguINN kitchen window.

What great pictures...I assume they are all the "welcome" visitors. Did you get any pics of the other kind??

Thanks for the visit and comment, Ginnie. I have taken pics of the "unwelcome visitors" a couple of times, but find them too invasive and far less attractive than these birds. And the UV always hog the feeders until they are emptied.

That reminds me I need more seed. I have went through 100 lbs of sunflower this winter since November. Some real nice shots.

Beautiful! I have yet to manage to photograph a pair of Cardinals at my feeder. They seem to be extremely shy. You certainly have captured some excellent photographs of your well fed friends.

Nice work on the photo collages! I favor the Cardinals. Wish we had them here.

Once again, your photographs are absolutely brilliant! I don't know how you get it so right every time!

I really enjoy seeing all your birds. Our feeders have not been as busy as last year because we have less snow on the ground this year. Our finches turn brownish in the winter having just a tint of yellow left on them. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Your bird posts are always good for a smile.

Hi Steve, wish we could declare the birds as dependents for the amount of seed they consume!

Mama-Bug and Daisy, thanks for the visit and comments :-)

Grammie G. later that afternoon there were at least 3 male cardinals in the tree, but it was getting too dark to take any decent shots...drat!

Rusty, the cardinals at our feeders seem to share well with any birds other than blue jays and the UV - starlings, blackbirds and grackles which don't even share well with each other!

Christer, the female cardinal is very pretty with her muted grays, but the male is my favorite especially in mating plumage of bright red.

Thanks Elaine (Country Girl) for the kind words and visit. Hope you are feeling better.

Mona, and I wish we had some of the animals you photograph so well! Thanks.

Desiree, glad you stopped in - thanks for the visit again.

Welcome Larry for stopping by our blog. I enjoyed seeing ALL of yours. You are sure a busy (and talented) artist. Please drop in again and I will do the same.

Hi AC, glad you enjoyed the bird pics.

Hi Costas, didn't mean to forgot to say THANKS to you too!

Lovely! I wish I had such a delightful variety of birds at my feeders, but most of the songbirds hightail it out of town in the fall and I normally don't keep my feeders up in the summer.

Nice array and collages of the birdies...we have many different birds too but I guess the novelty of seeing them all has run its course with me. when we first moved here in 2005-06 I took many wintry photos of the birds, but not so much anymore. We just feed and watch them. My faves are the cardinals against the snow.

Elaine, the bird photos you post are always lovely, especially the redpols.

Hi Pat, somehow the excitement of seeing birds at the feeders seems to stay with me because they always seem to be doing something different. The challenging part is trying to get a good photo. And the cardinals (VA state bird) is my favorite too.
