No, these are not for Halloween at The Frog & PenguINN. After a couple of recent colder overnights, Grenville covered the veggie garden which is still producing. An eggplant is ready to be picked and you might be able to see the tomatoes. We’ve picked several and had them ripen inside by the kitchen window.

Not everyone can pick veggies on Halloween. Fortunately, most can still eat them.
who knows what trickster might be hiding under those tents. veggie vixens might just pop out and visit you.
No veggies here. But, Dale did cover our passion flowers a few times before he dug them up to bring into the house. Enjoy those veggies!

Before a frost,take out the whole tomato plant and hang it up-sied-down indoors and any green tomatoes will still ripen. A good thing to protect your veggies while you still have some.

I've done this before too. Right now we have three ghosties in our front yard, but the coverings are to protect the trees from the moose over the winter. They love the tender buds on the trees I'd like to see with some blooms on come next spring.
oh yes the overnights had some freezes that did in our hostas and geraniums. I noticed in last year's Halloween photos that the flowers were blooming grandly in the geranium box near the front door, but this year there are some very frozen in place remnans that must go o the heap the next sunny day when I can get them. I still cannot get over how green everything is over your way! And your garden still lives. There certainly is a striking difference between eastern and western Virginia.
