Vacation Bound

Travelling on the highways during summer vacation time is a great chance to see all the paraphernalia folks take along just to “get away” from it all . . . somehow that seems contradictory. Here are some travel sights seen on our VA – RI route last weekend.
Various RVs  (notice that the RV in the lower right is towing a separate trailer)

Lots of cycles . . .

Kayaks galore . . .

Surfboards and More (motorcycles and jet skis)

Very colorful bags

This group was travelling light – no bags or trailers . . .

It's always fun to see what's going down the road with you. I am constantly amazed at the fancy RVs. I'm sure many cost way more than my house does.

I agree with Elaine - I bet the average RV costs more than our house...Wait a minute - the gasoline for one of those probably does too!

I've seen that once before -- an RV pulling a trailer. Amazing.

My bet is the RV is pulling a race car in the trailer, heading for a race or heading home.
Also, having followed the pow-wow circuit, many vendors carry their "shops" in the trailers.
For some folks being able to spend time at home is a vacation from being on the road.

I´ve seen very little of that over here this summer. Perhaps the rather uninviting weather keeps people at home?

Have a great day!

Very interesting! We do the same thing - watching all the strange things people drag down the road. Mom always said about campers: I don't want to take my work with me.

On the other hand daughter Catherine and friend discovered the joys of traveling in a large camper when taking lots of dogs to a dog show. They sure didn't have to look for a hotel that would accept 11 dogs! No chance!

We don't have an RV or a trailer or ever tie anything to the top of our car, but I know we always pack too many clothes and not enough money on the trips we take! :-)

Hope you have a safe trip! Enjoy!

The trailer behind the motor home could be going to an Arts and Craft Show. Bet there are some great things in there to buy. :)

ELAINE & MONA, we are ALWAYS amazed at the things folks bring to "enjoy" their vacation. And some of those RVs most likely cost as much or MORE than some homes, and for some folks it IS their home.
AC, we thought it was an interesting sight - very large RV pulling a large trailer. As Possum and Jo-Jo noted it could be carrying a car or show supplies. (Welcome Jo-Jo and thanks for the comment.)
LOIS, we like your mother's attitude! Yes, with that many show dogs an RV was the best choice for Katherine.
DAISY, same here - no RV or trailer and nothing ever tied to the car top, pack too many clothes and Always run out of money first!
CHRISTER, we wondered if you have ever seen vacationers carrying as much "stuff" when driving along your highways.
