Friday Funnies

We've been going outdoors as often as possible, weather permitting, as being indoors all the time is confining. Hopefully, many of you are doing the same, if possible.

Humans are not the only ones capable of practicing social distancing these days.

On a walk in a city park earlier this week, we spotted this pair of Canada geese doing the same. The mallard duck was also keeping a safe distance.
Not to be outdone, we noticed this pair of kayakers were also distanced apart.

State parks in NH are open and there are 93 total which includes campgrounds, historic sites, natural areas and beaches. Reservations for camping, pavilions and historic sites are put on hold until further notice. NH Governor Chris Sununu said he has no plans to put new restrictions in place even though cars filled parking lots on a mild weekend recently. The governor said that while cars were not distanced, hikers, monitored by park staff, were doing so on the trails.

Park visitors are requested to follow all precautions, which include maintaining social distancing, washing hands often, limiting groups to less than 10, and staying close to home. Under the NH stay-at-home order, this type of outdoor activity is allowed. The governor has said he encourages people, who have been confined indoors, to get outdoors for exercise and fresh air, but with proper spacing. The caveat is that if behavior changes on hiking trails, then state parks could possibly be closed.

Mine Falls Park is the largest city park here in Nashua encompassing 325 acres. It's within walking distance of our mill apt residence. We go there often and did so earlier this week.

During our visit, there were a number of other walkers, cyclists, kayakers out as well, all social distancing

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Go for a walk in a neighborhood or park

The walking paths around here are getting too congested for comfort. Joggers and bikers not wearing masks and huffing and puffing as they pass. I figure their droplets are in their air longer and are worrisome. I shortened a walk I set out on yesterday for that reason. Dan headed to the woods instead on his walk. There are ticks about which worry me too. I was glad not to be going through the high grass with him.

Local parks and trails are open here but our conservation authority has closed their recreational areas. The same is true for provincial parks, but there are none to speak of near us.

We've been having some really beautiful weather lately, so yes, I've been outside enjoying our many parks. It's been the same here. No heavy or strict restrictions, however, we must follow the basic guidelines.

FABULOUS photographs! Love the one of the geese and duck. Great capture!

Beautiful area you live. I can only imagine what it looks like in the Fall.

Have a superb weekend!

Beautiful photos of the water birds and the kayaks. It's good to hear that so many folks are keeping up with the safety measures. It means there is hope. You stay safe and have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

i have not been to a park in months. i do walk the neihborhood daily, just to be OUT.. i would think it would be much easier to keep the distance proper in a state park.. so far ours are all still closed.

We've been going out for our daily walks and hardly ever see another human out there. Makes it pretty easy to keep to our social distancing. I'm so glad to see the ducks and geese doing it too there. Thank you for the laugh!

Good to hear that people are playing it safe. Here in Colorado, the trails are too crowded for my liking, so I keep to my neighborhood walk. Still the sun, still the fresh air, still the exercise.

How nice that you have a great wild place within walking distance. It'll help keep you sane!

Distance, distance, distance. That is the way we live now.

Dorothy, Nice to be able to get out and about! We've had really nice weather here in East Tennessee but now we have a cold few days on tap, with even the possibility of frost for the next 2 nights! Crazy for down here! Day 55 in self-isolation for us but we do love getting out. Way too many people aren't wearing masks for my comfort though... I don't like wearing mine but I do. Glasses fog up and I have to go without them... Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

It's not too bad for those of us who have places to walk, not so much fun for those who live in high-rise buildings in the middle of cities. People around here generally seem to be following social distancing rules though occasionally you see something completely daft.

Ha ha, very wise geese and duck! Hopefully soon everyone can walk about and go places without worry and enjoy their daily lives. Continue to stay safe dear friend!

I hope that people remain sensible, and bear in my mind that their conduct affects others. If we all continue to observe social distancing for a while and maintain a good hand washing regimen we have a chance to get our lives back to normal. To blow that opportunity due to ignorance or stupidity would be a tragedy.

Social distancing works.
If we keep on doing that, by mid of June, several weeks after re opening of places, we shall have the proof and answer.
It's good for the geese and the kayakers too.

Good photo of you and hubby!

People are behaving themselves in your town. Here things are confusing. I went to three hardware stores today and things were very poorly organized.

I can always tell how warm it is by how many people are out walking the streets. The dog walkers go pretty much every day but when the kids are playing in the yard or riding bikes I know it is nice outside. It is nice you have a close park.

Glad to see you're able to get out for some fresh air and sunshine. We all have cabin fever now I think.
