What is This?

Perhaps, fellow bloggers will recognize this without right away – not even sure you can find this still.

Hint: This is not something used in an auto or equipment. Not sure you recognize it? Try anyway – sometimes the guesses are more fun than the answer. No prizes, just having fun.

We’re be on the road heading south for the next couple of days, so the answer will be delayed – lots more thinking time (if needed). There’s a story behind this photo and it will be a future post.

I won't ruin it for everyone else - like you said, the guesses are sometimes fun...
I have a bunch of them, too... only mine aren't empty.
One of these days, I am just going to have to look at them again...

hmmm...I would say it's an upper floor in a hotel. I have seen it somewhere. Chicago? Not far from an airport? Ho hum. LOL I don't know...but that's what it looks like to me.

Looks like a slide holder(tray). Oh I have quite a few of them. Some day I will put all the slides on my computer. It will take me years and years and years and ......

not even worth a guess from me, anything mechanical is not in my realm...

I have to agree with a couple of guesses above. I think it's a slide carousel for a slide profector. I don't have a slide projector anymore, but I do have a bunch of old slides, which I am working on scanning onto my computer. It's a very slow process because I keep getting distracted....

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
THANKS for having some fun. Grenville was certain most folks would slide right into the correct answer.

Possum, thanks for not being the spoiler and giving the answer early.

HermitJim, Sara, Elaine - YES, you were all correct. Sara and Elaine, I HAD a lot of these too, but emptied them and donated all (including the projector) to a local thrift store for someone else to enjoy.

Steve, Diana and Mona, your guesses were the most unique.

Ann, Frank, Christer, Pat - thanks for the replies even if you didn't venture a guess.
