CNWR Sunday Afternoon

A couple of weeks ago,  we spent a few hours bike riding at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge (CNWR).

The ocean surf was very rough that afternoon.

These ducks found calmer waters.

Beautiful images. :) I can look at images of the sea and of birds all day and never get tired of them. Very nice.

Wonderful photos! I wish i could take a walk by the ocean or the big lakes but I live a bit to far from them.

Have a great day now!

Fine heron photos. I have never been too lucky with herons.

Nice shots as usual...
Wish you had known Assateague when the beach was about 300 yards further out to sea than now and we had huge tertiary dunes. It was so beautiful.

Hi Everyone - glad you enjoyed the photos of one of our favorite places here on the VA eastern shore.

Yes, Lois, you definitely do love the ocean and spend much time on large ships travelling it!

Thanks Costas for the kind words and the visit.

Elaine, it is beautiful in most seasons, except summer when the mosquitoes can be very nasty.

AC, sometimes herons can be most cooperative like this day, but at other times not so much.

Possum, must indeed have been lovely and sorry it's all gone now.

Steve, the ocean is lovely just to watch it - do you get to be near it at all?

Thanks Mama-Bug, the great blue heron is a majestic and colorful bird.

Welcome back Grammie G and we DO know how hard it can be to keep up with posting and reading blog. Glad to know you are doing better and recovering. And yes, we miss Maine's lovliness too.

Wonderful! I was just trying to comment on the post above this one about "Seating 1 or 2"...but it doesn't open up with the usual comment window. I like the post however!

Thanks Mona for trying and glad it finally worked!

Ann, it certainly is a beautiful place to spend time with so much to see. The snow geese should be arriving soon if not already and that is really a sight to see!
