But, sometimes a little humor can defuse a tough situation. Here's what we saw when out walking through a Nashua, NH, neighborhood last weekend.
Apparently, this homeowner was taking no chances with these lion statues and following all precautions — social distancing and mask wearing.
While another didn't quite see the same need, although his statues were social distanced and outdoors.
Often, you just have to take time to have a laugh as we did and, hopefully, you did too.
It's not everyday we see statues like this in a residential neighborhood. These were both in front of homes that were (and still are) considered quite grand. More of these residences will be shown in an upcoming post, along with a bit of Nashua's history.
Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
It's going to be a hot and rainy one in Nashua, NH

Even some statures have masked up!
Our move day is fast approaching.
Humor is always welcome, and sometimes it can be life saving!
The two lions with the masks on, are great humor, indicating the times we live in.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I always try to maintain a safe distance as far as lions are concerned. I'd prefer them muzzled rather than masked.
Earlier this morning, I saw a poster comparing states that have embraced masks compared to those who haven’t. Of course, I cannot remember the numbers now, but you can guess which category was doing significantly better. I am not lion abut this.
That's really funny. It looks like they might be bringing some rain your way. It said it's a fast-moving tropical storm putting down 4 to 6 inches of rain so that's probably where your rains coming from
The masked lions are a delightfully humorous touch.
I'd rather see statues wearing masks than being toppled by vandals and rioters....
Yes, we must laugh more...the lions wearing masks were pretty funny.
Hahahahaha. I love the lions wearing their masks. That is so funny. And yes, I think the masks are here for quite some time. You have a wonderful weekend, hugs, Edna B.
GREAT photos! LOL!
Reminded me of the two huge lions in the front of the New York Public Library and how they put masks on the lion's faces!
Have a terrific weekend, my friend!
Thank you for the laugh this Friday morning!
Good ones!
Beatrice, We're lucky if the people living around here are masked up...much less the statues! Plumber and HVAC services both came by in the last week...w/o masks. Our county mayor has announced that he's not making masks mandatory, that it's a 'personal choice' despite the surge going on in Tennessee. Can't fix stupid! Adjacent Knox County does have a mask order in place... Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
We all need to see the humor in order to save our sanity. These were good. Thank you.
Ha ha ha. Mask wearing lions! You can't be too safe these days! :D
LOL, better mask them up and keep them away.
Love these! What a great idea!
Humour is necessary in times like these. Great photos.
Love the masks on the lions! LOL!
Thanks for that :). The sun has finally come out on this little island of ours. Time for a swim I think. Have a good weekend. B x
People seem to be coming up with all manner of creative uses for masks. You see it around here too. I suppose it is a way of dealing with the restrictions imposed on us. A little humour goes a long way.
Yes indeed the asked lions made me smile. Just what we need in such strange times.
Always good to keep a sense of humor. Thanks for the smile.
I have seen some photos online of people statues with masks, but nothing in person. Too funny! There are 2 homes in our neighborhood with lion statues at the end of their driveways. It looks really dated in 2020!
I think we all need a good laugh these days! Your post made me smile! Have a good weekend!
Hi Dorothy! :) Oh I LOVE those lions...we used to see those in Montreal, mainly in the Italian sections of the city, they are so amazing to see, they keep good guard of the home! I giggled at them wearing masks...I wonder what they think of it though? ;)
Too cute, great funnies! Thanks for the smiles.
