Friday Funnies

No bones about it, this motley group of characters was seen at the Home Depot store here recently. While we can't image spending $$ on these, some folks must do so.

Others just lost their heads or carried a couple extras..
It's getting close to that day in just about 3 weeks, when all this madness stops (we hope).

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone.

Thanks to ALL for the comments on a post about the arrival of our first great niece, Autumn Rose, They were read and appreciated by her parents as well (we shared them).

I checked out the prices of all these things, in Home depot and Walmart and have been on my soap box about how Americans waste money. I saw a house down the street with a 90 dollar blow up blinking ghost thing and just shook my head.. I just don't get it... back when my kids were little, I did pumpkins and they had costumes, home made ones. my son buys all these things, but not with his money, he sets up the horror house and decorates the Yacht club with them so the rich folks can play at being scared while partying.

They say Halloween is the biggest holiday to decorate after Christmas. When my youngest daughter was little, I couldn’t even take her to the drug store or any store that featured Halloween decorations of the scary kind. She was so frightened! We had pumpkin parties instead of trick or treating and homemade costumes. It’s funny now because she and her kids love Halloween but they don’t do scary.
I have a friend and a family member both in the Haunt industry and it is really big time. Louis Dean and I were treated to a visit and I guess it was because I knew the actors I laughed instead of being scared. And as an artist, I could admire the magic they created.
We dress up and sit on our decorated front porch and hand out treats every Halloween. It makes a good photo op for the trick or treaters and their parents. This is our 15th year to do this and some kids have grown up but they still drop by for a little visit and a photo with us.

Because I love Halloween I used to go overboard with my decorating. Alas I no longer decorate because the few children who live here go to the next town to trick-or-treat. It breaks my heart.

People spend lots of money for these decorations . I hope at least they re-use them.

Have a wonderful weekend Beatrice.

I'm surprised they have room for the Halloween display given all the Christmas stuff already.

Yes, some people do go all out for the occasion.

I enjoy Halloween a lot and dress up each year, but then I work in a primary school. We have such fun with the students.

They are pretty cool. I think it's cool to decorate, but then you need to space to store all those decorations. That's as much a negative as the $$ to buy them. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika

I must live a dull life. Not a skeleton in sight, lol.
Seriously, folk in my town don't seem to get excited over Halloween.

Because we never celebrated Halloween in Australia until recent years with the advent of easy global communications, I still find it hard to get excited about it. I certainly wouldn't spend money on decorations.

Halloween has just gotten too weird for me. I mean, I always thought it was something fun for KIDS but hey, that's just me. As long as adults don't kill anybody, they can do as they like! :-)

I like all of these Halloween creepies, but I agree that I wouldn't want to spend Big Bucks on them.....

Okay, I'll admit that I love the headless horseman!

Yes it will be coming and then it is all done. You have a lot of decorations to share.

Halloween must mean a lot of sales. That's a scary bunch.

I can't imagine spending money on that stuff either. It seems to get bigger and bigger every year.

Just as for Christmas decorations it seems that we start to see Halloween decorations earlier and earlier, and more of them for sure.

Thanks for coming to my blog. I’ll try to come and read your posts but I have been moving for a while from our GA house to a house in Nashville, traveling back and forth, and am a long way from being finished. It has taken my time away from blogging, and I miss it.
