Smitten with Kitten

Over the weekend, a trip to a local jeweler to replace a watch battery introduced me to Rocky, a ferociously frisky feline.Rocky the kitten
Rocky’s cat mom had abandoned him and he was adopted by his human “mom” Kate who was feeding at the family-run jewelry store where she works — easy to do as Kate’s mom owns the store.

After lunch, Rocky posed (very) briefly for some close-ups.Rocky closeupsBut preferred to scamper around the store. stopping to play IMG_0757with “grandma’s” dog, after all, it’s a family business with pets allowed.
This encounter came soon after fellow blogger John (Don’t unplug your hub) had an encounter with a BIG cat which he luckily caught on video. Multi-talented John paints, sings, plays guitar and is planning to write a book which he gladly “talks” about on his blog. And, John cautions “there will be bad language” so readers are forewarned.
Blue is a very cute kitten who can be seen at fellow blogger Mildred’s Maple Lane site.

Carrying a camera along is always a great thing as Sandra, proudly known as the MadSnapper agrees. You never know when a photo op will happen, even if it’s not an award-winning shot. it’s ALL about having FUN !

The camera used was a Canon IMG_0776PowerShot SD1300IS digital Elph, one of many Canon Elph models. This one has a 12.1 MP, 4X zoom canon elph (3)with a 28mm wide angle lens. It’s not great for action shots (Rocky was moving in this one on the right) or long-distance zooming, but VERY compact, fun and easy to use.  And it’s almost always taken along with me, cause you never know.
COMING UP this weekend (Sunday) is Grenville’s birthday; the following week is granddaughter Elizabeth’s 1st. We will be celebrating with family in PA and then RI. That’s right, it's Another road trip coming up.

Another road trip for two very special occasions. Loved reading this post. I know John but do not know the others, and will enjoy checking out their links. Lovely post, lovely kitties, lovely camera.
And a Happy Birthday to Grenville and to Elizabeth.

What a cute kitten :-)

Those small cameras are perfect to bring anywhere. The one I bought at an auction is slightly to big I'm afraid. It doesn't fit in a pocket so I always have to carry it in my hand :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Makes me want to get another kitten, but I don't think that C.B. (my Siamese) would like the idea!

Happy Birthday to Grenville and Elizabeth!

Safe journey!
