Friday Funnies

Plows, we got 'em, and while Nashua, NH wasn't plowed in yet, these units were ready to go early Wednesday morning.

Just under 12 inches of snow fell here from late Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon. While it was the first significant snowfall in the past couple of years, it could hardly measure up to portions of the Northeast, like Binghamton, NY. There, a yardstick wasn't long enough to measure over 40 inches that piled up in under 24 hours.

If the white stuff hangs around, we could have a white🎄Christmas, the first one in years.
Glad many of you enjoyed yesterday's post about the Northern Cardinal, known as the Christmas card bird. We received a few more cardinal cards this week.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
One more week till 🎅 arrives

That is a lot of snow - far more than we have here. Depths like that are tough on wildlife. I hope people keep their bird feeders filled.

I could do with seeing that here but very unlikely.

Some places got quite a wallopping. We are pretty well bare.

We lucked out, here in NW PA. We received 6-8 inches of snow. Erie, PA which sees the most snow in this region only saw 3 inches or so. We may have a white Christmas too, with new snowfall. Have a great weekend.

Looks like you are ready! Those will do the trick -- you New Englanders have this snow stuff down!

Snow really does make everything look so beautiful and perfect for Christmas.

I have a blogger friend in Binghamton and always think of him during these storms. Glad your snowfall was manageable. We only got sideswiped here with maybe 6 inches.

It looks like winter has arrived for you. Glad that those days are behind us but sometimes we get icy roads and that is dangerous. So glad that I don't drive anymore and don't miss it. Take care, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.

A white Christmas would be nice.

Wow! No snow in Texas! It's extremely unusual to have a White Christmas here! But it has been cold this week - cold for Texas, anyway!
Your town is ready if and when it does come. We are never prepared because it happens so rarely!

We got about a foot of snow here. After Christmas it needs to go away and stay away. Now I can start my countdown to Spring. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Thus far we seem to be missing the snow.

You live in such an interesting place with that larger river below your place. The plows look all clean and newly painted.

That is some snowfall! I would not want to be shoveling.

Twelve inches of snow isn't exactly a funny matter. It looks beautiful, but I'd hate to drive in it. I hope you have a white Christmas!

I was wondering how much snow you got. My friend in NY state got 18 inches.

It's very hot and humid here at present...which is to be expected because it is our summer...plus we had torrential rain for a few days...finally clearing away early yesterday morning.

I'm so jealous! It is brown here in Fargo! :(

My goodness that is a lot of snow.

That to me looks awesome.
Never seen snow plows before, so that's interesting for me to see.
Well let's hope you do get a white Christmas this year if you would like one :)

Great views and lovely cards. We had two inches and the snow turned into sleet/rain soon afterwards.

Beatrice, If we had 12" of snow here in East Tennessee we would be totally paralyzed! Heck, schools close here if there's a chance of snow accumulating even 1 inch! We sure don't have plows like those around here... Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

You got some of the white stuff too I see. It was quite a storm. Reminded me of when I was 7 and experiencing snow for the first time that I remembered. We had returned from the Philippine Islands where we lived from 1952-1957 and that winter of 1958 we had some big storms in Lancaster, PA where we were living. Mountains of snow along the streets. That's what we have here now.
Merry Christmas. I put a card in the mail to you. I'll send a separate email with new phone number here.

I think the whole of Scotland has about the number of plows that you have in Nashua.... street clearing doesn't seem to be a priority here. Here's to a White Christmas! I forgot to comment on your Christmas bird post. Funny that, in my mind, the only Christmas bird there is is the humble robin. I guess we don't have these beautiful red cardinals here in Scotland. They are just gorgeous!

Lots of snow! Looks like it’s going to be a White Christmas.

I saw my Facebook friends in northeast posting photos of piles and piles of snow. So pretty. I like seeing snow as long as I don’t have to drive in snowstorms or remove it. Hehee

That's a lot of snow! We didn't have that much but enough for the kids to enjoy. They still go sledding everyday...hasn't melted yet! Maybe we will have a white Christmas too.

We got our first snowstorm of the season here in NYC.

It's a mess, but it's nothing like the blizzard that hit upstate New York.

I hope you have a White Christmas!
