Egging Easter On

Yes, the post title is totally punny. But, it's no surprise that holidays are coming faster and faster, thanks to retailers.
Easter is still many weeks away according to the calendar, yet in-town retail pharmacies and dollar stores have shelves lined with candies, and a lot of stuffed toys.
These were a couple of my favorites on display. Of course, I tried the Palm Pet®, which really did chirp. Peeps® are always a perennial favorite of mine, but only in yellow.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone.

So sad that companies, shops etc are on the make on a religious day.

I love those peeps too! I know they are too much sugar, but I just can't help myself. And I love those plush bunnies too. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

It used to just be Easter eggs for the little kids, but now the shops have found so many things to sell us. Pretty soon there'll be something for every week of the year!

Easter is big here too. Lots to choose from in the stores. We just don't pay attention to all the stuff that you can buy. It's usally candy anyways and with the inflated prices, why bother. Happy without it. :)

You asked how far is our new place from the old one. It's an hour drive by bus, 45km (27 miles),
Enjoy your day!

You don't have to tell me that, some of our local stores had them on the shelves just after Christmas

Must admit I have been avoiding the seasonal aisle as I am trying to lose weight and there is a lot to tempt me.

Tis the season for jelly beans. I LOVE them so I never get them until Lent and no more after Easter. I don't care for Peeps, but I resent all of them except the little yellow chicks.

The retailers put out the Valentine displays a few days after Christmas. I can hardly keep up with the mass commercialization of the holidays.

But I love the Easter displays - which assure me that spring is near. And I'm an Easter candy addict - - although most of the candy nowadays isn't as good as it used to be.

I haven’t been up to the storage attic to get and spring and Easter stuff down yet.....maybe next week!
All the retail decor is old hat long before the actual holiday arrives!

Our Passover holiday is close to your Easter. I'm not looking forward to it as it involves thourough, hard cleaning and certain food restrictions (no bread). The stores are trying to attract us with substitutes to the restricted items at least two weeks before the holiday start.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. These Easter retail displays are hopeful that spring will eventually arrive. Maybe sooner? Maybe March? Guess we shall wait and see. hugs-Erika

Already!! I guess that's one advantage to being housebound--LOL! I haven't had to be bombarded by those early holiday sales items crammed on the shelves for a long, long time--LOL! ;)

I'm a Peeps fan, too, but try to hold off until they are half priced. I'm not fussy about the color, and know if I started with Peeps in February I'd be a bigger size by Easter. The drugstore closest to me had Easter candy out on February 15.

I've never cared much for Peeps, but I'll take a chocolate bunny any day! Hope you have a nice weekend!

I don't like peeps. I'll tend to go for the cream chocolate eggs, but haven't had any yet this year.
