Blogger Will Be Missed

For the most part, I'm a once-a-day, every several days blogger. However, after posting earlier today, I read a fellow blogger's last post and am posting again.

I'm sure it's happened to every blogger. Some bloggers who have been in our blog life for a while, some longer than others, and then suddenly they are no longer posting.

Some are gone without a final post.

In some cases, unfortunately, there is a very sad explanation. In the past, I've read posts from friends and family of bloggers who have died. Some of you may as well.

Other times, someone may have stopped blogging for medical or personal reasons without providing an explanation. That's understandable as, sometimes, people may not want or be able to share everything nor should they need to feel beholding to do that.

Life does go on, hopefully better for those folks.

And that's what I, and many others, hope will be true for a fellow blogger, Laurie, who today did a final post on her blog, Where the Spruce Trees Grow. As she put it has "come to the end of the blogging road."

(I read in comments below, that several of you followed the link to Laurie's blog. However, as of today (02/28/2020) it has already been removed and my link has too.)

Rather than repeat what Laurie wrote, I will leave it up to you as to whether or not you choose to follow the link and read further. It seems that only a few recent posts remain on her blog, which may be totally erased by the time some of you even read this post.

I greatly admire the courage, grace and forthrightness she expressed in so many of her posts. She also included wonderful nature artwork in many of them and her text always created such vivid imagery.

Thank you, Laurie for sharing yourself through your blog. We will miss you.

That is so very sad. I've never read her blog before, and it's quite beautiful. Her photography is stunning. I can't imagine what it would be like to be losing vision. Such a heartbreak. Thank you for linking to her post.

I too have never read Laurie's blog. It's a beautiful blog, and I'm so sad that she has lost her eyesight.

Many bloggers just run out of ideas and energy. They slowly fade away and don't have a specific ending that they feel like sharing.

I went over and had a look at Laurie's blog. What a great blog. I wish I had found it .

I have been a blog friend of Laurie's for a long time. I followed her through her other two blogs which disappeared as she came and went from blogland. I love Laurie so much and will miss her terribly. I certainly understand. It is so hard for her. But I will still miss her.

I imagine that I will instruct others to leave my blog up for some time upon my demise. I worked on it after all. At least she said farewell, which is the right thing to do if possible IMO.

I never knew about Laurie's blog, but I just read her final post - which is so heartbreaking. I can certainly understand her reasons for ending her blog. And I can only hope that - through some miracle - she can retain enough sight to blog again some day.

Hope and prayers are all we have. I wish her the very best.

I knew a lot of bloggers who eventually died. It made me wonder which is the best way to leave the blogging world. Food for thought, methinks.

Oh that's so strange because I've just written a post about my eyesight. It's something we take for granted until it goes wrong. So sad, and I can understand why she's stopped blogging.

I've got eye issues too, and my yearly check-up has become quarterly. It came as quite a shock, but thankfully, things are stable. I've been taken my blog friends along on several major health journeys and have been so grateful for the support. My goddaughter has my password and if something happened suddenly I've asked her to update my blog. I've grown so close to many I've met in Blogland and know that people would worry, as I would as bloggers disappear.

I'm sorry to hear this. I know what it is like to miss blogger friends. I've known four over the years of blogging who have passed away. Many others I have known who, for whatever reason, stopped blogging.

I am sorry to hear this. I'd thought I'd been following her blog, but can't find it in my blogroll.
