Good point Limulus. Does this mean that different colors will be different favors????? I wonder if they will have a Chocolate Mocha FUDGE one?????? Grenville
i just asked google and some are white because they don't get enough shrimp and krill in their diets... but they are actually silver in the water... ha ha....careful, or someone might call you off the wall like me...
Here on the west coast, we prefer eating sockeye salmon whose flesh is a deeper pink and are sometimes called red. Personally, I don't buy pink salmon - just don't like the taste or texture as much.
Yes, it does! If you're looking for salmon you want Alaskan salmon, which is a lot different than Atlantic salmon. There are five different types: Chinook (king), sockeye (red), coho (silver), chum (dog), and pink (humpy), listed in order of desirability. It's kind of like the difference between rich dark chocolate and a cheap milk chocolate. Personally I would leave the pink salmon in the store. It's very different from the red, which is what we prefer. Of course, I don't buy salmon at the store, as we get enough given to us from family members who go dipnetting at Chitina. Chitina is on the Copper River, and Alaskan residents can take 30 salmon per family, and when the salmon are running that limit can be reached in a few hours. The best way to eat that salmon is to put it whole on a BBQ grill, add whatever seasonings you prefer, and of course eat it outdoors under the Alaskan sun. Mmmm, it doesn't get much better than that!

I've heard of pink and red salmon. I'm kind of glad it isn't green or blue. I'm not sure I could eat that! ha! Have a great weekend!
a color of its own, but in this case a generic description
I would love to try any other color :-)
Have a great day!
