Welcome to August!
After a recent rainfall, I took a short walk and found these colorful (and very wet) blooms. My camera was a point & shoot Canon digital Elph which was hand held.
Please Note: these collages are not clickable to enlarge; the post was composed using the MarsEdit blog program on a MacBook. This program does not provide the same features as the Microsoft Live Writer blog program does for PC blogging. There is no LW software for Mac users (sadly).
It was a brief shower and later that afternoon, the sun broke through as I continued my walk.
Hosta is a popular perennial named in honor of the Austrian botanist, Nicolaus Thomas Host. Its blooms are purple, my favorite color.
Beauty is also found closer to the ground, quite literally by getting down to be (very) up close.
THANKS to Everyone who reads our blog posts, whether or not a comment is left . We appreciate your visits — Grenville & Beatrice

Christer.
I just love how you put them all together! I am so sorry I missed your call last week!!...:)JP
Very nice pics. The last one in the middle. Intriguing. Is it a plant under running water? How on earth do you capture water droplets?
Gorgeous collages, Beatrice. I hope you are having a good week.
Those flowers are just gorgeous. I wish you could give me some photography lessons. You're very good.
Hi Beatrice, I wanted to let you know that I think that the people at Buttonwood Farm do plant the sunflowers every year. According to their website, they have been doing it since 2004 or so. It's quite a sight. I hope you get to see it next year.

Lovely collages!!
Just simply gorgeous! My flowerbed is already looking a little ragged. It's been soooo hot here.
Looking good. I've got to re-think my garden as it seems that it will soon be done. Sue has pots and things, but my perennials are fairly done and probably will be for sure in two weeks when we get back. Of course, it's been a tough summer here: hot hot hot and dry dry dry.
Such pretty collages. I especially love the hosta. Hope you both have a nice weekend.
Very nice flowers. Sadly around here the drought has pretty much wiped out everything.
