Drafty . . .A new barn is right behind . . .Both are standing in a field we’ve passed many times on Rte 13 the past few months – most recently yesterday. We hope that impending Hurricane Irene doesn’t finish off the old barn.
Isn't it amazing how the farmers let the old barns just compost all by themselves and just build another nearby. This one is really CLOSE nearby! It all makes for some great images, that's for sure!
Great capture! I wonder if they pushed some of the old barn down so they could build the new one there. The positioning seems a bit strange, but they must have had their reasons. The old barn has a lot of character even if it is falling apart, and the new one looks very utilitarian but totally lacking in character.
Thanks All for the well wishes with the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene, a most Unwelcome Visitor (just like the grackles at the feeders) only far more dangerous. Grenville and I appreciate your good thoughts and hope anyone else in harm's way makes it through safely and their homes as well.
This old half-barn has been this way for the past few months and maybe the next time we will see it as a pile of lumber. Agreed, Elaine that new barn is so nondescript compared to the charter oozing out of the old one.

Cute. I saw it in Reader first, and because the text was white, I couldn't read it. So I was quite surprised to find the two juxtaposed like that.
Hi Beatrice...My first thought when I saw it lol!!

Cute ! Hope hurricane Irene misses everyone and dies off before it hits mainland ! Stay safe and Have a good day !
That is to funny. The first image remains me of the guy who split his house during a divorce with a chain saw. :)

Neat pictures, Beatrice! I hope Irene heads out to sea and that you and yours are all safe from the storm.

I like the old barn too. Wishing you safety and electricity during the storm, Diana
THanks Diana and the same to you and yours, Sure glad we're not living near the water or in a mobile home - not good places to be this weekend.
Oh, I LOVE the "drafty" barn photo!
