Back to Back

First, thanks to all for your good wishes. I think somewhere in the cosmos there is a  place where those wishes go and then siphon down into ones karma. And a special thanks goes to Possum (who is digging potatoes and making me envious) for recommending a Chiropractor.

So today was my first time going to a Chiropractor. When i was a kid we went to an Osteopath so the thought of someone ‘adjusting’ me wasn’t foreign.

The bottom line is that my back, legs, shoulders, and neck muscles are all too tight and need some serious stretching which we started today. AND once they are stretched back to normal ( a setting on the dryer here) my vertebrae won’t be getting pulled out of place which is what caused this past disaster. I tell ya, it’s tough being retired (sort of).

Garden update……. The Marmorated Stink Bugs have attacked the zuc’s and yellow squash. Luckily they were done for the season (even if they weren’t done, Beatrice has outlawed them from the house.) On the plus side the tomatoes are better than ever, eggplants are doin’ great, and the peppers are holding their own. This afternoon (Beatrice hogged the kitchen yesterday) i finished freezing 4 quarts of beets and had a quart left for dinner. The peach harvest was a little earlier than i wanted but everyone who got some liked them, even my Non-Fruit eating neighbors!!!! I still have 6 pounds in the freezer.

Time to stretch again and then a movie. Thanks again for all of the good wishes.

Grenville (having a great hare day)

Glad to hear you're moving in a positive direction with your back.

How did August get here so fast that people are saying they are at the end of the season for so many fruits, veggies, flowers.... I do look forward to some cool weather, though. Just about the time it gets cool here, we will head South to the High Seas again. *sigh* Murphy's law. ;)

Glad you're feeling better Grenville! We have nothing left growing in our garden down here in Florida. The garden patches are all tilled up and waiting for a few fall crops. Our scuppernog grapes are almost ripe and ready to pick. I'm probably going to juice most of them to put in the freezer. Have a great weekend!

I'm glad your garden is doing so well in spite of the Stink bugs. We have had just a bit too much humidity for tomatoes. They are now starting to do alright again. We haven't had any in a week. lots of rot raccoons a couple weeks ago. I hope your back gets stretched into the right place.

I'm glad to hear you are on the mend and that your garden is doing well. How wonderful it must be to grow your own peaches! There's nothing better than a nice fresh juicy peach. :-)

Somebody needs a good day at the spa getting pampered. That will sure relax those muscles.
I do hope you get better soon.

Hi Grenville: I'm so glad you're getting relief with the aid of a chiropractor.
I was interested to have a comment on my blog tonight from Beatrice who said her hometown was Plainfield, NJ, as was mine. I wonder if she was born in Muhelenberg Hospital.

Good that you are feeling better. Now you just have to stick with the stretching routine you've been given and not overdo things. Glad to hear your garden is doing so well. I really do envy you those peaches.....

A good chiropractor is worth his/her weight in gold :-) They can make miracles with sour backs!

Thankfully we don´t have stink bugs over here, I understand they can be terrible to have on the vegetables.

I tasted my first tomato yesterday and that didn´t taste especially much at all :-) But that can happen to the first tomato so I´m hoping for the coming ones!

Have a great day!
Christer.

Continued good luck with that pesky back. Chiropractors haven't done too much for me but really seem to be tickety boo for some.

Glad things worked out for you and C... his sister has kept me out of the wheelchair for the last 20 years...well, most of the time, anyway, except when I was more stupid than usual. Who said I shouldn't lift that lawnmower?

Gonna make tater salad today with my newbies.

Just remember, do what the Dr says and you will be OK!

Your post was an interesting post to read.

Here I am. It is my real name. Abraham (my grandfather's middle name, "Wesley") Lincoln. I am Abraham Lincoln ('cause I leave the Wesley part out).

And, yes, I am related to President Lincoln, a third cousin – we shared one of our great grandfathers. Now, you can tell your kids or your friends and relatives that you got a comment from a real Abraham Lincoln.

I am on a kind of vacation but get out and about when I have too much on my mind. They brought the new roof yesterday. That was a HUGE surprise to us. We had been going at the insurance company, back and forth, and then they showed up. Not much of a vacation...I drug my oxygen tank around a couple of times marveling at this monumental truck with a crane on it that transported whole skids of stuff up on the roof.

Hi Ginnie, YES, I was not only born in Plainfield, NJ but in Muhlenberg Hospital! This was the local regional hospital that sadly has recently been closed.

Even back in high school people said you were tight, but I never thought of you that way. Now, 45 years later a professional confirms it! I have been wrong before. Fix my neck while you are there. I did not say 'wring my neck.'
