There was a feeding frenzy on the Nashua River last week; some folks were feeding the local waterfowl as we were talking a river walk.
Not to be upstaged, these Canada geese splashed down for a water landing.
For a while, it was quite the animated show on the river, at least while there was food.

This Mallard duck couple preferred to remain on the river bank hoping for a handout which they did receive in time.
Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
A snowy start 🌨️ then rainy ☔️ on Saturday, temps in mid-40s
We heard a rumor that Spring 🌷🌺 arrived this week, not here.

LOVE the last one of the male Mallard giving the EYE to the camera and the gulls dancing in the air is amazing and my favorite. I once saw something like this in our river but they were fighting over small school of fish. quite a sight. I need to find it on the blog and give it another look.
Good morning, great captures of all the birds
...what feeding frenzy. I hope that they weren't feeding bread! Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
Great captures in flight!
Loved seeing different breeds as they come for their morsel of food.
Fabulous photos, Dorothy! Oh my! I'll bet it was loud out there!
Great shots! Love that walk!
We like to stand at the top of a local hydroelectric dam and toss bread. The seagulls swoop down and catch it in midair. It always delights the kids.
The ducks are the best. Have a good weekend.
I would call this a beautiful bird ballet. Lovely shots!
So beautiful!!! I could watch that for hours.
They must have been starved!!
HaHa makes me want to run for cover.. lots of fowl activity..
Terrific photos
Sue
Love seeing these water fowl!
Beautiful birds...they bring such joy....they do to me, anyway! :)
Take good care...sorry for not being a regular visitor of late. Life sometimes gets in the way. I shall attempt to mend my ways! :)
Birds love free food but we are waned not to feed them like this.
It's always fun to watch the wild critters go crazy over a good handout! You caught some great pics. :)
You have wonderful views from your apartment windows of the river. The frenzy of the birds as they swoop for food is spectacular. The photo of the duck is beautiful.
Your last picture reveals to all who care to look that the familiar Mallard is among the very handsomest of birds.
All signs of spring here have been covered by the snow. 12" and more coming down.
It ia a flying frenzy free for all. I love it. Some older friends tell me that I shouldn't like the gulls but I like all their antics. Great shots for sure.
Nice Mallard duck couple!
A lot of action going on there and fun to watch. Great photos too.
Great series of photos, lots of action going on there. I love mallards but have always been veery fond of seagulls also, ever since I was a child and lived by the seaside. Such a fun sight for us kiddos. Hope you see signs of spring soon and your snow goes away.
what a majestic show :)))
it was good luck you went there when show was on and how nice of you to capture it so amazingly and share it with us dear Dorothy !
i enjoyed each bit of it !
the third image has some intriguing display :)
your clicks are great and made my day thank you so much :)

Lovely flight shots! those are hard, even if there is a frenzy. Hope the "feeders" have food that's good for the birds(not bread).
Hi Beatrice, Our largest bird feeding frenzies here are based on the Fort Loudoun Dam, part of the TVA system. Whenever the gates are open to release excess water, fish passing down from the dam to the river below are often stunned or maimed. Despite being 323 miles from the coast, we get huge flocks of seagulls taking advantage of the situation, diving and feeding at the foot of the structure. FYI, we love feeding birds and other critters... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Wonderful. Beautiful photos. Thank you. Yes, the seagulls are flying artists... and the pair of mallard ducks - they are so noble.
Kind regards from Viola
Given the physical contortions needed and the germ ridden stones, I wouldn't want to kiss the Blarney Stone myself. Somehow I think I'll survive without the Blarney Stone's help. Kilkenny Castle is very grand. Good that it was saved from crumbling away. I had no idea the idea of jaunting comes from jaunting carts.
This is another post I felt sure I'd left a comment?
They seem to be disappearing? Blogger does have glitches from time to time!
You got some great photographs here.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
Beautiful shots.
