Friday Funnies

As always, I was on the lookout for funnies on our recent road trip finding several new ones to add to my collection, like this one.
Surfing is what you might expect to see at the beach, but this guy had a different plan as he cruised
along the water's edge in Fernandina, FL, on what looked like a hoverboard. Online checking showed that this device is a battery powered one wheel. It has a top speed of 18 mph and a distance range of 12-18 miles on a charge. Nothing was mentioned about sand cruising..
A small group of Piping Plovers didn't seem to be bothered by this unusual sight. In case, you're curious about the cost too, it was listed at $1,400, making it a pricey beach ride.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Snow is melting; 60 degrees & rain predicted this weekend

The sand must have been very firm and not as I picture sand from my experiences.

I had no idea they were that expensive, but it does look like fun.

Really? Snow melting and 60°? Maybe some will come east as the high today will be 28°. Brrrr...
Speaking of which, it must have been cool in Florida that day with the way the man is dressed riding on his ball.

What will they think of next? Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.

What a hoot! I sure would have clicked a couple of pics of him if I saw him sliding along the beach! What a wonder!

There's some kid in Connecticut, I think, who has been surfing all winter, too. That battery board is interesting!

now, I would try that. Just keep me out of the water!

Looks fun! I'm glad to say we still haven't had any snow so far this winter, but it's still quite cold!

I've seen these hover boards. I've also seen the one they use on the water. Very futuistic, but the future is here, isn't it? Have a great weekend. hugs-Erika

Each to their own, but I can think of better uses for $1,400.00! :)

Take good care...stay off hover boards might be one way of taking good care...and not only of your dollars! :)

What next?

He looks cool but I would prefer to walk on the sand directly!

You would think sand particles would get into the mechanical parts of the hover board and cause problem.

That's not for me. :) Have a great weekend!

That is one pricey beach ride!!

oh what fun this looks to be! One would think that he would bog up in the sand or that the sand would ruin it?

I also imagine that sand would get inside it and stop it working. In any case, like Jenny, I'd prefer to just walk on the sand.

I love walking best but youthful ones have different ideas. Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.
