Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of number 13, while Paraskevidekatriaphobia is the fear of Friday the 13. It comes from the Greek, Paraskeví for Friday and dekatreís for thirteen. It's been estimated that less than 10% of people in the U.S. share this phobia. (Are you or anyone you know in this group?)

this poems sound like Halloween anthem and scary as well :)
I knew those witches the moment I saw them, I was forced in the 11th grade to memorize that poem and say it in front of the class. I rememeberd the first few verses but not all.... I do not believe in superstitions, but have known a few who did
I am quite fond of the number 13. My twin brother and I were born on that day in May many many years ago!
We celebrate Friday the 13th in my family. It is a source of a funny day.
I used to fear number 13 and then my fear switched to 8 when I started noticing that my bad happenings fall on this date(I actually made a list, and 8 came up as the dominant digit. So, now I pray to God to turn all digits 'lucky numbers' for me.
I am not superstitious either but know it's very real to others, my mother being one of them.
No, I do not share this phobia. However, my son (Jason) gets tormented by his co-workers incessantly!!!...:)jp
It's a silly superstition, that's all.
It may be a silly superstition, but it is wide spread. The story was told by my mother, many many years ago, that she celebrated her birthday on the 12th of April until shortly before she got married. It was then that her mother told her she was really born on the 13th, but she had been reluctant to tell her because of this superstition. She informed her husband-to-be and both agreed that thirteen was their lucky number and they celebrated it at such from then on.

It was a good day herein Texas for the Chapmans. I’m not entirely sure I believe in bad luck anyway.....but it’s still fun to celebrate Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is just another day for me, nothing special. Actually until I read your post, I didn't realize we just had a Friday the 13th. :)
