But, the one we went to last Friday in downtown Nashua was very special as it honored veterans on appropriately enough, Veterans Day.
Main Street was closed to traffic throughout the downtown area. It was perfect weather for a parade, even though the skies looked threatening, there was no rain.
There were high school marching bands ...
And other school groups.
It was perfect parade weather, crisp and clear, but a bit windy. The flag bearers and flag twirlers got a workout.
These marchers were my favorite parade participants.

What a lovely parade! The marchers in that last photo are indeed wonderful.
I love parades too. This looks like a really nice one.
Good Morning! What a nice parade to honor our Veterans. It is nice for me to see a bit more of your lovely town. Those are beautiful uniforms the flag twirlers are wearing.
I have always loved marching bands, and it looks like you had a few of them. love the view of downtown, beautiful town.. love the last photo most of all.. and the flag bearers in the fire truck collage. that collage is awesome
Magnificent! I love a parade. One Veterans Day when my daughter's house was right on the parade route we sat by the street in front of her house. The parade was a few days after Veterans Day. It seems the paraders were still in the area and available but much cheaper than on the actual holiday. The children loved it and received a lot of attention from the people in the parade.
The second shot with the wide view is my favourite.
Yep, those historic costumes win me over every time too!
Fantastic post and photos .
That parade looks like a big deal, and that is good. I also like the ultimate photo. Weather was not good here, so I stayed home, but we don't have that sort of parade anyway, just a rather short march to the Cenotaph.
I enjoy parades. Looks like this was a fun one. Great photos!
