Where Dinner is the Show

Ichigo Ichie is a hibachi and sushi restaurant where Grenville's daughters treated their he and I for a pre-Father's Day dinner during our RI visit. Grandson and granddaughter joined us.
At this restaurant, the dining experience is all about the show. Up to 9 people are seated around a hibachi grill. Meal orders are placed, then a chef comes with a cart containing ingredients for all the dinners, then it's showtime !
Grandson tried his hand at dining with chopsticks after some pointers from mom.
If you are curious about the restaurant name, Ichigo Ichie stands for one chance, one encounterHave you ever dined someplace like this?

We both thoroughly enjoyed the show as much as we did the food, although we haven't been to one in a while. I KNOW you had a great time and the kids must have loved it!!!!...:)JP

Yes, and once the chef accidentally flipped a shrimp right into my lap! We all laughed and they were quite gracious in paying for the cleaners.

Amazing pictures given the lighting! We had one of these kind of restaurants in Eugene for a long time but it closed a couple years ago. Your pictures brought back some smiles.

There is a grill in a restaurant we go to where you choose your food and they toss it on the grill and cook it for you. It's sooo good. Loved seeing your photos. About the chopsticks, I never could get the hang of it. :)

no, I avoid those places... too much MSG for me.
But I do enjoy eating at a place in PA where the food is prepared on a big grill right where it can be seen. I swear it takes an athlete to keep all that food flipping on and over and off and coordinated so it is all done at once and not sitting under a heat lamp for 15 minutes while something else is finishing up.
And I am not into chop sticks.

No never but it would be fun to try. As long as it isn't raw fish I'll eat anything :-)

Have a great day!
