Now ain't that a hoot! Cost more to mail it than it's worth!

Now don't go spending that all in one place, spread it around and don't forget to tip your postman, yard help, delivery person and....

Merry Christmas, you will have a good one this year and the economy will thank you too.

Seems to me, we have gotten one or two like this in our day.

That's funny! I agree: was way more to mail it than what it was worth...I don't think there's even 5 cent candy anymore is there? lol

Why do they even bother :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day!

Hi Everyone, forgot to add that, the "legalese" that came with this "windfall" stated "consult your tax professional for any impact this could have on your taxes." WOW don't want to go into a higher bracket!

Mona, 5 cent candy is a thing of the past, and so is penny candy. Grace, thanks for the "spending" suggestions. Daisy, it would cost more in gas to drive to the bank to cash this!

That sort of thing amazes me. We once got a bill for 0.01 dollars.

Made me think of closing an account and their service charge was 5 cents over from what I had.

Be sure and cash that promptly now! Sounds like some of the things we get in the mail giving us a deadline, and we don't get it until a week or two after the deadline.

I had to pick myself up off the floor on this one! I do hope you rushed right out and deposited it in the bank..no wait. NOT a great idea. I hear that is risky..and after all 5 cents IS 5 cents!
We always say no presents..but you KNOW how that goes. I did get him a couple of nice shirts..I just cannot not have something for him to open on Christmas morning.

I smiled when I read about your tree. I think I should not have said what I did about the faux tree's! Better yet..I should not have joke about them being "dead" tree's. I read another blog that I read often..and she sort of threw the entire idea of decorating to any degree at all, under the bus. And...said it was unsafe to have a live tree. Ah well..to me you have to MAKE Christmas. The day and it's special significance is, of course, always there..but that feeling...is something I guess you have or you don't have. It's just something I do and I know others don't...but I poke a bit of evergreen all over the place.
I love doing it, tired or not...and once I am under way it's really fun to see it come together.
Sorry I am choking your comment section...should have emailed!
Merry Christmas! :)

Hi Annie, thanks for the visit. I sent you our mailing address in a reply email.

Mona, thanks for your comments and sharing your thoughts on Christmas. No, you didn't fill the comments section! While the non-real trees are not for us, I can understand how many folks may prefer them, especially those with allergies, kids, let's, etc. Also for some folks it's a lesser expense to pay once for a tree and have it for many years use vs. buying a real one each year. We had considered one as well, but changed our minds...Again!

Hey Ron, I wondered about the total payout myself.

Now, Thats funny. I once knew a fellow I worked with who got a paycheck back in 1950's that was for .75 cents after all deductions. But yours has that beat. LOL

I wonder if a bank would even take it?

Whatever you do, cash it because if you don't those stinking lawyers will. ;^)))
