F&P Wildlife

While outdoors working in the Frog & PenguINN gardens the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen the usual steady stream of bird visitors. But, other visitor have been coming as well.

Mr. Squirrel  usually hangs out near the barn enjoying a pecan snack which is very close by. that’s the leaves in the background. Other times he scampers into the nearby pine tree with a nut.
squirrel collage0611Here’s our resident bunny that comes around in the early mornings or evening to munch on the selection of white clover in our yard. As long as we don’t scare him off, he will stay around for awhile. When not dining out, Mr. Bunny resides in one of the wildflower gardens and scampers out as soon as the morning watering starts.bunny collage0611

HI Beatrice..awww so cute...I never see a rabbit anymore. When we started having the Coyotes in my area the rabbits started to dissappear along with the partridge!!
Cute photos..love you friends!!

Where are your possums?

I feed them corn but it started attracting birds I didn't want so I stopped for a while. When I planted my corn the squirrels almost gave me a failure crop, so I replanted and put my corn feeder back up. They are out right now.

Are squirrels mostly gray there? Ours tend to be black, but I think they're the same species. When I was a boy in Montreal, they were mostly gray. When I moved to Toronto, they were mostly black.

And "the End" certainly says it all! Can be worth saving to use as a logo in certain situations:-)

I have trouble commenting on blogger today! It asks me to log in or gives me an error message!

Anyway, I love squirrels but ours are to shy to come that close. I do like bunnies in the wild as well just as long as they don´t come in front of my bike while I´m biking :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Cute collages, Beatrice. I've been seeing a lot of bunnies this year. The squirrels are a bit of a nuisance. They keep eating the flower seeds I have planted!

Sorry to hear, Grammie G that you have coyotes rather than cute bunnies. Hi Elaine, the "ending" seemed perfect to me too. Possum, of course all the possums are at your place. Steve, we don't have problems with corn and squirrles, ours seem to prefer pecan nuts and busy them all over, so that we keep finding pecan trees where they shouldn't be growing. Yes, AC, all the ones here are grey and that was also the case where we lived in NJ. Thanks, Pat for the suggestion about "ending" it. Christer, I can't say we really like squirrles because they have caused damage when they got into the barn and were trying to nest there. We much prefer the bunnies which only seem to eat the clover and never both the veggies (thankfully). Agreed, Daisy & Sandra on NO for squirrles and YEs for bunnies - neither one bother the gardens.
