I decided that i would start celebrating my birthday on the 14th. Now around here there is a special place that is only open during the summer and then only from Wednesday to Saturday. The Sugar Shack has become a land mark, a legend, and a summer institution to us locals. When you go there you really have to consider how much ice cream you can possible eat. I made the mistake on our first visit of ordering my usual double scoop in a waffle cone. When Norris handed it to me it was about the size of my head, WOW!!!!!
Since then we have learned to order the toddler size cones on a regular visit and maybe a one scoop cone on special visits.
BUT for really Special Occasions like this we ordered a Banana Split (small of course) for $6 with two spoons.
What a sweet way to get older!!!!

OMG! now THAT'S a banana split!! I used to work in a dairy bar as a teenager and learned to make these delicious concoctions! Wise that you got two spoons! Thanks for visiting my blog!
Now THAT, my friend, is a major banana split! Forget the spoon, you need a small shovel!
Oh, my goodness! Happy Birthday. You need some clams to go with that.
Hi Folks. Yes a Banana Split at the Sugar Shack is a meal in itself. We have seen grown men order a regular size one (we got the junior size) and then not be able to finish it.
Hi Patty, maybe we should tell Norris & Jane (Sugtar Shack owners) about your idea...clam flavored ice cream?
Hey Dorothy - Thanks for stopping in today. We read your blog and were happy to hear that Joe is doing so well. Yes, we even backtracked to April and information on the accident and then his treatment. I know how happy you all are that he's home again, even with the long haul still ahead. You are a strong family.
You defintely know how to celebrate your birthday! Very nice photos from the aquarium too.
Oh that does look good.....we east ice cram nearly every night..if we want to go out fro a scoop or two we have two favorite places, Culvers with their frozen custard and Rannison's in La Crosse wher they make their own. Ice cream seems to be a specialty that thrives here in the Midwest
