No we were not invaded by UFO’s, even though the blinking, color changing landing lights are on every night. Well not the nasty kind at least. This weekend a good old (we are not talking age here) friend from High School daze stopped on his July Motorcycle Odyssey.
He landed his bike with side car but had no room for passengers AND all his ‘stuff’. As Beatrice has told, we had a great time Saturday at the non-motorized parade in Accomac, Fire Cracker Book Sale at the County Library , Hor’d orders at the Sugar Shack (Chocolate Sundaes [they were out of fudge, can you believe that]), some Butt Rubbed Ribbs and Beatrice’s Creamy Cole Slaw (needed to cool the mouth), then a outdoor band concert and Ice Cream social. Does that seem like a lot of Ice Cream??????
Sunday was a pot of Beatrice’s world famous Rat-a touey that was shared with a groups of Eclectic Friends. As Ron says, ‘there are no strangers, just friends we haven’t met yet’
Our guest took off this morning on the next leg of his
odyssey. You can track him at http://oldbikerider.blogspot.com
For the weather watchers out there, the heat is back, BUT not as much Humadidity this time. We may get showers Wednesday night (rain, not us). Last night we closed up the house and cranked up the air to cool everything down. Looks like it’s going to be that way for the next week or so. BUT as i have been reminded a few times ‘It is summer’. Irrigation is running and well pump is groaning. Please send any excess rain (plastic lined envelopes only).

That bike looks like lots of fun. It's fun to have guests, too. Your Fourth sounds wonderful. I hope you have even more pics to share.
Daughter has a motorcycle (and an old Mustang, and an Escape...). It's pretty cool when your CPA shows up to pick up accounting stuff with a helmet in her hand and a bike out in front. Sometimes she even has a small loaf of home made bread for old clients of mine in her saddlebags. We've decided to stick with our Edge and not expose our knees to asphalt. ;)
There is no such thing as "too much" ice cream!
Lois, All i can tell you is that his bike is a 'airhead BMW' that is old (as in Oldbikerider)and his hobby for many years has been rebuilding old BMW anythings. My job when we were kids was to follow the bikers (i fell a lot and was adverse to becoming a human scab) in my 1959 Hillman Minx convertable with parts and tools.
You are so right Pat... NEVER too much ice cream. Too bad the Sugar Shack is closed Sun, Mon, & Tues.and we finished all the Mint Choco Chip here last night.
That bike is toooo cool!
I like the sidecar. It looks different for some reason. I guess in my day they had more of a rounded or bullet nose job. This one is nice and I bet it rides nice too.
Hi Mona and Abe. Like i said, i really don't know that much about motorcycles. Yes the side car does look different from the past. Probably more aerodynamic. It had a lot of adjustments and shock absorber thingies. You could check with him at www.oldbikerider.blogspot.com
