This weekend is a BIG birthday celebration here in the states. July 4, 2026 marks not only Independence Day but the historic 250th anniversary (semiquincentennial) of the U.S. and the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Maxine was ready and decked out in her colorful finery at the senior center earlier this week minus some footwear.
One time, I inquired in the store about these tiny figures learning that they are very collectible. Some of them can cost upwards of several hundred dollars depending on the piece. So I will admire them in these window displays.

No travel plans. It's still a hot 🥵week here.

I hope you have a joyful celebration. Just don’t dip your hand in a reflecting pool; it might get you arrested!
I love the facial expressions of the mice, especially the bake sale ones. Not a lot to celebrate this year, but we need to resolve to regain our democracy.
