Friday Funnies

Unlike many apartment buildings, the mill residence has an indoor parking garage, which isn't a free convenience but comes with a monthly fee. However, we consider it a useful expense, especially on snow days when the outside free parking lot needs to be plowed and cars must be moved very early.

Most garage parking is pull in, however, some require parallel parking. This seemed to be a challenge for this driver who was not quite close to the barrier wall.
Far far away (from a parking space)
It's been raining many days in Nashua, NH, water seeps from the top lot into garage areas. As seen in the bottom right photo, this driver will be stepping out by a sizable puddle.

Of course, letting my mind wander as it does, brought other thoughts of this word sequence, for example: Star Wars fans will recognize them as the opening sequence. Far Far Away is a 1970s song by British rock group Slade. Far far away is a phrase used in fairy tales and children's stories. It's the name of a fictional kingdom in the Shrek franchise
Just in time for this weekend's celebration of Mother's Day, other half, Patrick captured this outing of a proud mom parading her young family on the Nashua River this week. It was the first sighting of goslings this season and most likely won't be the last.

A welcome back to a Stevenson, a blogging friend who was far far away from blog-land for a long time. Perhaps, like myself, you have also left comments on a blogger's site in the hope that one day he/she would post again. His comment was a very nice surprise!

That said, several bloggers are going through tough times with medical issues of their own or loved ones. While I won't list them, regulars of this blog may know them too and join me in sending best wishes to them. While a blogger may not reply, letting someone know he/she is in your thoughts could brighten their day — and even yours. Being kind takes little effort or time.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Happy 💐 Mother's Day to blogger mothers

I have indoor parking at no charge. It’s called my garage!

So true about leaving blog comments. Enjoy the weekend!

...I remember Stevenson.

Too true that leaving comments is valuable. Doesn't matter whether we know they're read. It's just a good instinct.

I saw Beatrice mentioned on Stevenson's post, and wondered if it was you. I like how your mind worked with the phrase Far, Far, Away. Stay dry today. And it sounds like maybe tomorrow too. hugs-Erika

Sweet photo of little ones-we really enjoying seeing them too here on the lake-it's amazing to me how many they lose do to predators sadly.
Happy weekend hugs

Patrick's photo of proud Mommy and her sweet little quack quacks is a perfect reminder for Mother's Day.

What you said about leaving comment, I've had some ups and downs and can say I truly appreciate the kind comments.

I haven't seen any little ones around here yet, but we shouldn't be too far behind you. Perhaps they are all in hiding until they get bigger.

Yes, it is good to hear comments from people or to leave comments on blogs even when we aren't sure they are there reading them anymore. I miss some special people and wonder about them and say a little prayer for them when they are no longer communicating without us knowing why or what may be going on in their lives. We are a family here, and it means a lot. I love the photo of Mother Goose and her goslings. We never got any baby goslings here this year. The resident pair just never got around to building a nest and now we aren't seeing them at all. I think the Muscovy Ducks added too much commotion here on Still Waters Pond this spring...that plus we have these two cats now outside. That may be why the bluebirds never nested either. You are blessed to see the sweet goslings! Will they stay around your area all summer? I'm glad you have a good parking garage for all kinds of weather...it's too bad some people still need lessons on how to parallel park. However, I shouldn't throw stones...I'm not the best at it either. I avoid it whenever possible. Are your parking places assigned so no one will take your space? I hope so! Have a blessed and wonderful Mother's Day weekend.

Maybe the driver has no depth perception left? (But then...shouldn't really be driving anymore.) Or maybe has to use a walker and needs more space to get in and out of the car? (Don't see a handicapped tag.) Hate to think they just don't give a rip, but that could be the case, too. ;)
Spring is always baby time. :)
I really appreciate every comment. Have times when I am not doing well so don't always comment back, but I try to. Some of the best people are in blogland!

Never read Stevenson before. I see he gave you a shout out for your persistence in checking in to see if he was alright.

The Canada Goose and chicks are so cute!! I wish we had a garage, we only have a driveway. Your indoor parking garage seems good, except for the leaking water. It is terribly sad to watch some of my blog friends go through such rough times, and knowing there is nothing I can do except pray. Ginny.

Our condo building has two dedicated parking spaces for each unit, but if they were not offered I would definitely pay for them

If I lived where you do, I would have garage parking! Necessary, I think.

I find parking difficult at the best of times, whether it's at the side of the road or in a multi-story car park or wherever. I sympathise with those drivers who make a complete mess of it.

Hi Beatrice, Love the baby geese/goslings. Cute! Talk about mother's love...don't get between her and her little flock. Fierce momma! Yes...the aging thing and ailments is a downer. We have a couple of family members who have stage 4 cancer, another friend with a heart condition who has contracted pneumonia and the list goes on and on. Just have to keep moving and appreciating life as long as possible! Earthquake here this morning got our attention but no reported damage. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

I sure am not a fan of parallel parking and will avoid it if I can.
Love the goslings and Mom. Perfect for Mother's Day.
My heart aches for many of my blog friends that are going through difficult times. I agree that a kind little note can do wonders for all of us.
Hope your knee is healing and that you can be back to "normal" what ever that is (:0)

We never see geese here, so this photo is cute to see. I park in my private garage, but I see that type of careless parking elsewhere.

When I lived in Germany I was very lucky to have a garage because winters are no fun there. I always had to leave very early for work and was glad that I didn't have to remove snow from the car or defrost windshields. Driving on icy roads was challenging enough. Just like you, I would spend that extra money for indoor parking.

Oh my gosh, Slade. Haven't thought of them in a long while. Now their music is playing in my head. Love that you have a place to park. I am not sure how good I am at parking in tight spots. It's been a long time.
