Friday Funnies

Did you ever notice that some days everything around you seems to go round and round?
It seems that way to me, sometimes, especially when trying to catch up, more so after returning from an extended trip as Grenville and myself have this week (16 days total). We had a great time, despite rainy & chilly days, not unexpected in the UK. Certainly, touring is fun, but also very exhausting at times and tiring as well (thanks, AC). It's really good to be home, until the next getaway, that is! That one will be closer to home for Thanksgiving with family in RI.
(The above image was taken from our mill apt window. The 3D special effects were applied in Photoscape, a photo editing program. I've been using the free version for a while.)

My namesake, Dorothy, said it most memorably in the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz.
There's definitely no place like home and you're welcome for the movie look-back.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone.
Catching up & will return to commenting & posting soon

That's some heavy duty photosshopping but not with photoshop.

But I am disappointed in your for missing the obvious pun about being tired.

I don't know how to do anything with photos whatsoever, but I agree--there's no place like home! :)

I'm glad you both had a good time. The buildings around the middle of the inner tube is a marvelous special effect.

Glad you stopped at home for a while to do laundry etc. Photoscape sounds interesting, and the price is right!

So happy that you are back home and had a good trip! I very much know the feeling of going back from a beautiful trip but you have double the number of chores t o do haha but I hope you guys are still hyped up by the beautiful memories! That photo you shared is super cute at first I thought it was a pottery or something! Will await Dorothy and Patrick someday soon in Spain, make sure to tell me when you guys visit Spain and Portugal and would love to show you around my beautiful Barcelona!

Glad you’re home safely. Before you know it will be Thanksgiving.

I had to look back at that photo because first look, I thought it was an inner tube. Nope. Crazy illustration.

Welcome home!

It's like life sometimes takes on a carousel-like quality, with everything spinning in a never-ending loop!

Welcome home, Dorothy!

You are quite right, there is no place like home, especially for those of us for whom home is warm, welcoming and comfortable. A nice vacation is not bad either!

Yes, it can be lovely to get home! 16 days is a long time to be away and I am glad you're appreciating it. After seeing a dizzying parade of new things it is great to have some time to reflect and process it, too.

Hi Beatrice, I also thought that that photo was a lovely piece of pottery when I first saw it! Very cool but the technology is way above my pay grade. Welcome home...and you are right. Travel is lovely...but there is no place like home! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

For some reason, I like that round item. It reminds me that sometimes things in the world go round and round. Nothing goes in a straight line; everything is complicated. After your trip of 16 days, time to rest at home. 'No place like home' as they say.

You've been busy! Welcome home! I traveled out of a suitcase while touring Europe for 3 months on my own in 1969-70, so I know the feeling of exhaustion very well. On the other hand, what a joy to see and experience new things!

I'm glad to hear you're back home safe and sound! Now it's time to sit back, and put your feet up. :)

I'm sure it's very exciting to travel, but yes, no place like home. I feel that way ALL of the time! ♥

Looks like you had a fantastic holiday Beatrice. It is always nice to get back home. I love the circular photo, and the teapot :-)

You're right touring is tiring. A few months back a friend and I did a 2 wk tour of The UK, and tour guide said...remember this isn't a vacation. Touring is not relaxing on the beach reading a book, that's vacation. Hope you had a good time and welcome home.
