Friday Funnies

There's nothing unusual about seeing a pet in a car, except when the pet is unusual.
Like this one seen this week in a supermarket parking lot after we parked our car.
This bird didn't seem the least bit uncomfortable. The cage was propped up on a layer of blankets for a good view of outdoors and was held in place with a bungee cord.
The owner didn't return, although we waited a few minutes while I took these photos. And, by the time we had finished our shopping, this bird had flown or rather been driven away (awful pun, I know 🙄).

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
It's will be a quiet weekend for us

He was out for a drive? Or had been to the vet? It’s a funny thing to come upon in a parking lot.

That is definitely a little pet you don't expect to see in a car.

How sweet that he was propped up for a good view. We have a parent at my primary school that picks up her child with a parrot...loose in the car! lol

Hope he wasn't left too long. He probably enjoyed people watching as much as people enjoyed seeing him.

I expect the bird enjoyed the change of scenery. And yes, maybe it had been to the vet.

Cute bird but sad that it was cooped up like that. Birds need to be in the trees and in the sky.

Interesting to see this one "out for an excursion"
I wonder if it even knows it is in a different place.
Thoughtful owner to prop the cage up though..hope the window was open a crack though.
Enjoy your quiet weekend.

What a beautiful parrot! It seems like he was enjoying excursion in the car.

BTW - Dorothy, I'm so glad you're enjoying the Hot Cinnamon Sunset tea. I was really very pleasantly surprised when I first tried it - and now I'm hooked. I just ordered more from Walmart. They only have boxes of twenty, for about $5.45.

There is a parrot rescue place in town, which I have never seen, but I have seen the carers taking parrots for a walk.

Oh no! Flown the coop! Well, at least you know he was buckled in!

I'm glad they gave the bird a nice view while riding so he can feel like he's flying again! Pretty bird. My brother and sister in law used to have one like that and they took it with them camping and anytime they traveled very far. (They usually camped in their camper). The bird loved to travel. I guess that's a good trade off for having to live in a cage.

Beatrice, Parrots are so smart and interesting! One of my staffers had one get loose while he was moving it to another location... The parrot behaved rather well, until, when sitting on the fellow's shoulder, he decided to pluck a couple of hairs from his beard! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

"The sulphur-crested cockatoo is a relatively large white cockatoo found in wooded habitats in Australia, New Guinea, and some of the islands of Indonesia."

There often are flocks of these beautiful birds around here where I live. They can be quite noisy when visiting. And, they can be quite destructive in some cases.

You were fortunate to sight such a beauty there where you live, Beatrice. :)

When I worked at a pet shop in Uptown (Minneapolis, Minnesota) during warm weather a customer walked all over the neighborhood and came into the shop with his female eclectus parrot on his shoulder. The females are red and the males are green. She was gorgeous and her name was Marilyn...don't remember his name, though-LOL! I looked forward to their visits all summer. :)
