Friday Funnies

Who doesn't like to save money?
Nearly everyone does, especially these days.

Sometimes there's too much savings offered on products seldom used or purchased
Does this happen to you as well?

Last week, my scanned CVS retail pharmacy card, spewed out this ticker-tape of savings.
Make It Stop !
Saving $ is nice, but over 5 feet is way too much paper and a major waste as I'm sure many others will agree. Thanks, in advance, for your comments. All these coupons were recycled.

For those unfamiliar with the name, this retail company has its start here in New England. The former Consumer Value Store was founded in 1963 in Lowell, MA. Now CVS Pharmacy, the corporation is a subsidiary of CVS Health, based in Woonsocket, RI. The name CVS was used for the first time in 1964; a former CEO said it meant Convenience, Value, and Service.

CVS Pharmacy is currently the largest U.S. pharmacy chain by number of locations (nearly 10,000) and total prescription revenue. Its parent company ranks as the 5th largest U.S. corporation in the Fortune 500 (by FY2020 revenues). By comparison, the parent company of Walgreens, its leading competitor, ranked 19th for the same period. CVS sells prescription drugs plus assorted merchandise, including over-the-counter drugs, cosmetics, photo finishing services, greeting and gift cards, and convenience foods in retail stores and online.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone

Yes, we like to save money, too. I always take a good look at the coupons that accompany my receipts. Sometimes they are very valuable so go into the coupon pocket of my purse for the next trip to that store. :)

We will be home this holiday weekend, too. Our dogs are not reactive to fireworks, but that is probably because we act as if they are normal (ha!) sounds in the neighborhood. I'm patriotic, but hate to see kids getting fingers blown off and dogs running into traffic because of illegal fireworks. It's been this way all my life and I don't expect it to change. I just stay home with my family and pups and survive the Fourth until the next year.

Very familiar with it and familiar with those coupons because my sister seems to like them. I would not and don't do business with CVS. They need to renovate their crowded stores and clean up the place. 😏 Gosh, I sound cranky. Have a good weekend!

The CVS here bought Long's Drugs Stores all over Oahu. But they kept the Long's name. We don't call it CVS. Gigi hawaii

We shop at the local CVS every now and then. Their receipts are so absurdly long.

Our CVS is the most expensive place to shop, everything in the store is 2 go 4 dollars more than other places. there is no value found there, I did use them for RX for several years because they are almost walking distancem but they made so many mistakes I changed to Publix. since our RX are covered by medicare, the prices are the same no matter where we get them. I found that anytime one of these long coupon things prined there was nothing on their that could not be bought cheaper at walmart

Our UK supermarkets also spew out loads of similar vouchers, in our case offering extra points on our loyalty cards if we buy such-and-such. Coffee shops also have loyalty cards, offering us a free coffee if we've had a certain number of previous coffees. I see US coffee shops have the same, though with some brands you have to spend a lot more than here before you get a free coffee.

One of my blogger friends just wrote a post yesterday about how much he hates CVS. I’m not a fan, either. Getting a $1 reward doesn’t do much when the toothpaste is $8.

That's such an irresponsible waste of paper and printing. A supermarket I use print coupons now and again but I never use them because I have to spend more than I usually do to save.
Have a good weekend Beatrice.

We have CVS here also, and yes, the receipts are terribly long. I try to use them, but can't always do so within the time frame required. I really don't shop in there much for anything but our prescriptions because they are too high priced on most other things. The last time I was there they asked me if I wanted a printed receipt. I should have said no, but I didn't. I wonder what they give you if you don't get the paper receipt? Will it go to your email/text? Just wondering. But at least there is that option. Have a great weekend.

I rarely go into CVS. Everything is over priced to me. I guess I need to use those coupons. Most of the time the employees are rude to me. Oh well. That is why I use Rite Aid.

Yep i get the mountain of paperwork spewed from the register, when I go to CVS and Meijer (think Walmart but fancier) Loved hearing I am not alone. Doing a staycation here too. Happy 4th

That's a long tail of coupons! There is usually one or two coupons attached to the receipt in the supermarket where we shop, so not too bad. I noticed many shops now ask you if you want the receipt, or if you would like it emailed. I find this quite useful.

We don't have CVS here but that certainly is too much paper!

Happy Tuesday, Dorothy.
