Friday Funnies

Often, you see the oddest things discarded on when walking downtown.
This one made me think of — can you guess what?
How about eyewear meant for a cyclops?

What a difference in a week's weather when last Friday's early morning window views looked like this. For comparison, here's the same views earlier today.
It's still not perfect spring weather yet, with a gusty day predicted today, but any day without snow in New England now is a good spring day.

Thanks for the comments on my previous post about the City Hall bell. I'm glad that so many folks enjoyed reading the history as much as I enjoyed finding out more where we live in now. Since long-distance travel is sadly not in the near future, exploring local environs has been both rewarding and interesting. I'm learning a lot as well — and sharing it too.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone.
Nice weather on Saturday means a possible day trip

You really do have a lovely view from your apartment. The warmer temps are supposed to be coming back next week. I hope so. Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.

Beatrice, While we didn't have snow here in East Tennessee with this latest cold snap, we did break the low temperature record yesterday for this date...at 30 degrees. Next week we will see 80 at least one day with the rest of the days being in the 70s. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

A few days can make quite a difference.

I laughed when you said Cyclops - - but those glasses reminded me of my own, which are taped together in about three places....
The weather (unfortunately) is still chilly here in the wilds of TN. It was 29 degrees last night. Right now it's 42 and raining.

It’s odd what you find discarded sometimes. Hope you get to take that day trip!

The trend now is discarded surgical masks. Discarded eyewear is usually broken frames or eyeglasses, and it's not a common sight; so Cyclops might be the funny idea behind it.

You gave me a good laugh. When you asked what the broken glasses made me think of I immediately thought Cyclops. Then I scrolled down and found that I wasn't as cute as I thought I was.

It really is amazing what you can find lying around! Town. city and even country! It is about to rain here at the ranch. Hard, they say....

Whoever is wearing the other half is sure making a spectacle of him or herself.

Now we just need the wind to die down a little bit. It is interesting the things that can be found.I wonder how half a pair of eyeglasses got into onto the sidewalk. Perhaps the glasses fell out of someone's pocket, got run over, and then someone tried to save the broken pair, only to be able to get half. Or maybe a one eyed alien who needs glasses arrived in Nashua. Ha-ha. Happy weekend.

Sun is warm up here north of you, but wind is chilling. I got pansies to plant in boxes for the porch but they can wait until tomorrow. We had planned a day trip for last Wednesday but the rain/snow and then a warning light on car put an end to that. We'll find out on Monday if the warning light really means the airbag system is a problem.

I t reminded me of when I broke my glasses right down the middle like that when I was a kid. Can't even tape them back together at that point--LOL!
Have a nice sunny weekend! :)

I've had some glasses that look like that!

Here's hoping next week is a little warmer! Have a wonderful weekend.

It certainly looks warmer. It is a good chance to explore our own backyards now that international travel is not allowed.

Or an eyeglass meant for Sherlock Holmes...a spare, just in case, for a case!

Great view and it looks even better without the snow.

It's sunny and dry here in the UK but with a bitterly cold wind, and next week we are due rain. This time last year it was lovely and warm.
