Friday Funnies

As we all know, life has its Ups and Downs and in more ways than one, like this . . .
This notice was posted inside an elevator we used during a recent hotel stay.
In reality, the elevator worked OK and we never had to press every button during our visit.

Thanks for your comments on my recent post about books and the ways in which they can be enjoyed. It's clear that a lot of fellow bloggers are also avid readers. To answer Christina's question on how I track my reads, it's not through Goodreads or an app (although I'm sure there are ones for that purpose). I just list the titles and authors in a Notes file and it's accessible on my desktop, tablet and phone.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone.
Weather permitting, we're off on a NH day trip

Once upon a time I used a spreadsheet to tracks books. Then I didn’t, and now I don’t know what I’ve read.

I tried to track what i read, but kept forgetting, now that i only read in my kindle, i can go to Amazon and search for author or book title and since i have only read on kindle for the past 7 years, I can find it. i have been unalbe to figure out why some books say READ and others do not and I know i read them. if i read it more than 7 years ago i will not remember it anyway

One wonders if pushing all the buttons- a kid thing to do- would make it worse.

That sign would definitely scare me and I would look for a stairway instead.

My library card number lists all the books I’ve checked out when I access my account online, but only by date. That’s a strange sign!

With or without signs, I'm always hesitant about elevators. I got stuck twice in a frightening manner, so, where possible, I'll prefer to use the stairway.

Not sure I would ride in that elevator after reading that sign.

Enjoy your trip!! I'm off to catch up on the posts I've missed of yours! Have my cup of coffee and ready to visit!

I can't read as much as I used to (eyes) but I keep track of where I am in various series on Netflix, etc, the old fashioned way--notebook and pen.

Not fun to ride an elevator that stops on every floor--LOL! ;)

Oh gosh, that lift (Australian) by the sign is not reliable.

Beatrice, I do recall checking into the Marriott on Times Square in NYC and our rooms were on the 17th or 18th floor. We dropped our stuff off at our rooms and then discovered that 3 of the elevators had been shut down. Nightmare! Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

That sign looks like a make shift attempt to problem solve.

I keep a journal listing the books I've read, numbering them through each year. I only read 64 last year. Somehow even with the extra time I on hands I didn't always feel like reading. This year's listing will be even shorter because of other things occupying my time.

If you ever head up our way be sure to let me know.

I have always had a healthy fear of elevators. I will use it only if I really have to. I was stuck in an overloaded elevator once and the phone inside did not work!(before cell phones)It was at work so we had to wait until our boss missed us and went looking for us. So if I walked in and saw that sign nope, I would have walked a thousand floors before I would chance it.

I hate elevators at the best of times but one that said that would have me heading for the stairs!

Oh my, such a scary elevator! But I'll bet you felt very brave for riding in it! hahaha. Enjoy your day trip, hugs, Edna B.

Pressing all the buttons reminds me of the movie, Elf.😀

If the elevator doesn't move, I'm taking the stairs!

Must admit I would have hopped right straight off that elevator, unless Bill was with me to talk me down (also known as holding my hand) as has happened more than once. I have a real phobia (I was stuck on one once years ago). Not proud of that and getting better, but ....Hope you got to go on your day trip!
