It’s been said about some places that “if you can’t find it here — you don’t need it.” And “one man’s junk is another man’s treasures.”
We stopped in after reading about it in a Vermont guide book. That was a good thing because there was very little information available online.
Shed Sales was directly on our route to another destination, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. They're both in the same town.
We've never been known to pass up an interesting or unusual destination and weren't in a hurry. That meant we had more time for browsing around. And we needed it in this place!
The unassuming house shown above was packed and featured antiques and everything else we could have imaged seeing at a yard sale, flea market or oddities shop. Even though this place was packed, most items were arranged and catalogued by type item.
We saw several "staff" members throughout the store, but they didn't say much.
Lots of dolls, including some pricey vintage ones. Notice the 5 baby spoons for Canada's famous Dionne quintuplets, born in 1934 and celebrated for all surviving infancy.
You never know when you might need non-locking trunk handles for a 1942-47 model car. And, you could also get some old Vermont license plates for it.
There were keys for many doors and locks, assorted doorknobs and hardware, canes and umbrellas and empty thread spools.
There was no shortage of holiday ornaments hanging from the ceiling and on some lamps.
Kitchenware and cookbooks filled one whole section.
These are just some collages of other odds and ends throughout the store.
We managed to leave without buying a single item. The only thing we spent was time. It was well worth it, and later we didn't have to ask ourselves, WHY did we buy this?

I love places like this and could spend hours just looking at all the fun stuff. I almost always purchase something I never knew I needed. (And often find out I did not need it.)
my mother would die of sheer joy to stand under all those hanging ornaments. I would love to wander and remember the past and 20 years ago would have made a purchase. today I would do what you did, enjoy looking and pass on out the door.. they sure have any and everything I could imagine.
One man's junk, another man's treasure. Looks like a great place to find interesting and unique items. Thanks for sharing and greetings!
It is always fun to dig through these treasure troves. You might find just the thing you have been looking for forever. Or you might walk away with nothing but a feeling that you enjoyed yourself. That house is gorgeous.
What a great place to visit, I would definitely have been tempted to buy something that I didn't need.
You could spend hours in there!
Yeah, sometimes it's best to just leave without buying.
You're right. they really packed stuff in this little place.
Oh my, that's crazy!! And fun!! Not sure I would have made it out of there without something. Hats off to you two!
We have learned that there is a place like this somewhere relatively close to us. I would like to take a trip there this summer.
I like to look around in places like this --until I start to feel claustrophobic! This one looks so well organized. I wonder how many calls for the tureen and bowl lids they have???
We love places like this. I would like looking at the Christmas ornaments and Kitchen gadgets. I don't need anything but it is fun to look. Thanks for sharing the great photos.
A great place to browse around and I enjoyed the photos. We were in a place yesterday that had similar items. We also came out without buying a single thing.
What an amazing place. You could spend hours looking. Well done for resisting to buy.
I adore places like that!
What fun! There is a place like this in the Poconos we used to visit every year. Always found some little thing to buy - if not for the house, then a gift for someone else. Kind of like paying for the privilege of walking thru and around all that stuff!
So much to see. I'm sure there are plenty of treasures tucked away in there.
Man! I would love to explore that store! I bet you there are some great finds inside.
