Birthday Time

It's THAT day again — my Birthday.

Two years ago, I recalled reaching a milestone as popularized in When I'm Sixty-Four by The Beatles.

Last year, I marked another milestone by attaining the start age for Medicare.

This year, there's nothing special planned, except to spend the day with my best friend, Pat (aka Grenville). A planned trip to visit friends in Canada has been postponed due to snow. (Perhaps going north in winter wasn't the best idea?)

Friends have sent cards, which are on display in our home. It's nice to know they remember. I'm grateful and thankful for their continued friendship as we live states (and countries) apart.

And, this birthday will be sadder as there will be no chat with my mother who died in December. Yet, I know, she will be sending her best wishes regardless.

As noted in last year's b-day post . . .
Memories are more precious than things — I have so many and more to come.
Dorothy (aka Beatrice)

Happy Birthday. I know you miss your mother and holidays will amplify those feelings. I hope you were able to pause to remember her and then have a wonderful day.

A very happy birthday! I know you'll miss your mom, but she will always be with you in spirit and in all those precious memories you made with her. I hope you and Pat have a special dinner planned, and perhaps a good movie to watch. It's strange, but we've found as the years go by that a quiet birthday suits us just fine--they roll around so much quicker than they used to too!

Happy Birthday to you and yes your mum will be there with you in spirit. Also I do agree coming to Canada this time of year is always iffy with the weather we get......depending on where you were going to visit of course.

Hi Dorothy!
Today is your birthday? What do you know? It's husband, Ray's, 63rd today. HIPPO BIRDIE TO BOTH OF EWES!!!
I was a little surprised to discover he turned 63, as I told everyone all LAST year that he was 63. Oh well, he gets to be 63 twice.
Hope you have a year blessed with happiness and health.

Hi Folks and a BIG Thanks to all for sending me birthday wishes. All were very much appreciated. The celebration was low-key and very nice spent at home with Grenville who brought a treat of coffee ice cream.

Ah well ... happy belated birthday then. Yes, winter trips can be difficult. I may have to cancel an appointment a half hour away tomorrow.

thought I would answer your question here. Our condo fees do not cover snow removal. You have to pay for that out of your own pocket and as we are fit enough to do it ourselves, we do it.

Honestly our condo fees don't cover a lot, but that's a whole other post in itself!!
