Happy Celebration

Happy St Patrick's ☘️ Day to everyone from Patrick and myself.
As always, Maxine was dressed festively at the Hudson (NH) Senior Center last week, a few days ahead of the actual celebration day.

Folks will be celebrating two Irish-themed pubs in Nashua, NH, Casey Magee's Irish Pub & Music Hall and The Peddler's Daughter. We're dining at home on corned beef with all the trimmings, including homemade soda bread, courtesy of chef Patrick.

In the careful what you hope for department, last Friday's post featured photos collages of disappearing snow in Nashua, NH. That soon changed early the next morning, when we saw this winter wonderland, thankfully a short-lived one that was gone by 10 am.
Followed by yesterday's all day rain, that reminded me of the melancholic 1971 song, Rainy Days and Mondays vocalized by Karen Carpenter, one of my favorite tunes.

Your Turn — If celebrating today, are you dining at home or going out?

No Irish blood here though Dan did put on a green sweater. We had our Irish fix on Thursday night when the Three Celtic Tenors performed at the Lebanon Opera House. Dinner beforehand at the Salt hill Pub.

An odd fellow goes chasing non-existent snakes off a small island and it becomes a celebration worldwide. Go figure!

Happy StPatricks day I used to always make corn beef with boiled cabbed-carrots-and onions. This meat is no longer on my list of foods I can safely eat and Larry stopped eating pork but I always enjoyed that along with reubin sandwiches after.
sorry your area got more snow-we missed the snow-again-but had a couple days of very strong winds and bitter cold again--will warm back up in a few days

Happy St. Patrick's Day. My husband is just a smidgen Irish, which he didn't know until he did his DNA. And since I'm zero Irish (well everyone is Irish today, right?) we don't really celebrate much in my house. Enjoy your dinner, especially since you don't need to cook. hugs-Erika

Happy St. Patrick's day to your hubby's namesake. And St. Gertrude's Day - patron saint of cats! I may have Scotch-Irish ancestors, but haven't spent much time thinking I'm Irish...kind of enjoy the Scottish bit more I guess.

We aren’t celebrating. We are staying home. As of 9:00 am it is 20 degrees, and we have 7 inches of newly fallen snow on the ground.

We have plans to go out, but they are not related to St Patrick’s Day. In fact, those could keep us home because we hadn’t thought about the implications of the day.

My corned beef is cooked and sliced. Tonight I will cook the cabbage, carrots, and potatoes in the defatted broth.

I don't celebrate any saints days but my village pub is having a themed evening which I was going to, unfortunately I'm a bit under the weather with a cold so I won't be going ☹

Happy Saint Patircks day, wish I had someone to cook for me. we don't celebrate but there are certainly millions doing so today. I am a little bit Irish, on the McCall side of the family, some generations back.

I'm from St. Paul. St. Patricks Day is a big deal there. I didn't go to the parade since I was a child. It gets to be quite the party. One day a year everyone becomes Irish! We won't be going out.

Maxine is awesome! What is she is holding? The fast changing weather is something I have not seen before.

Absolutely adore Maxine. She says it all in her Greenery.
We don't do anything special for St. Paddy's Day. I do remember in school always making sure to have some green on so I didn't get pinched. (:0)
It sounds like a delightful dinner planed and yum on the homemade soda bread.

Lots of Irish blood here, but no celebrating today.

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t celebrated in my corner of the world, so I enjoy reading about the traditions here. 🍀
Patrick’s soda bread sounds delicious 😋

No, not one of ours.

Happy Belated! We didn't really celebrate. Neither of us had on green and we didn't have Corned Beef and cabbage (we wouldn't have had cabbage anyway!). It's a bittersweet day to me -- the day my mom left our home for the last time for the hospital where she was for six weeks before she died.

My husband is half Irish, but we didn't celebrate. We used to always have green beer. I do have a few decorations that I put up.

Love that song, Karen Carpenter had such a beautiful voice.

We never take much notice of St Patrick's Day. I don't think wearing green and getting drunk has much to do with St Patrick. But if people want an excuse to let their hair down and have a good time, fair enough.
