Friday Funnies

Take a seat, please, just not in these chairs.

Most everyone has sat in an uncomfortable chair at one time or another. But, here's a few that would be really comfortable for different reasons.
Seat cushions definitely would be helpful for these chairs as would a bottom piece at the $20 price seen at a flea market.
How about a choice of seating, high or low? Just be sure to bring a bottom piece, cushion and a ladder to reach the higher one.
The pair of chairs above are part of this sculpture along the Nashua River directly across from Clocktower Place, the former mill building where we live.

Thanks to all fellow bloggers who commented on my recent post about a left knee injury. After a meeting and evaluation by a nurse practitioner, she suspects muscle strain. Recommended treatment was continued icing several times daily, ibuprofen (prescription strength), wearing a compression wrap and no elliptical or treadmill workouts for a while. I appreciated all your comments and concern as bloggers are really the best and the healing has begun.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
It's forecasted to be another soggy one in Nashua, NH, again

I think it should be mandatory for all politicians to have really uncomfortable chairs so they get off their behinds and do something!

I hope you have a pleasant weekend and get plenty of rest.

Yup, they need more than just a cushion!

Glad you could see the NP and it will probably take a month or more to get past this. but you might heal faster than I do.. Bob does heal faster. even if the chairs are caned and a cushion, they are not all that comfy to me. but I do like the looks of them.. if those chairs are considered sculptures, I might be able to create one like that. ha ha

Those artistic chairs are quite interesting.

You will have to take it easy for a good while. None of those chairs would be comfortable--lol! Glad you went in to get it checked out! :)

Finding someone who can DO the caneing of those chairs will be tricky and expensive enough. They should give the chairs away since there is much more work to be done to make them functional! The high /low sculpture chairs would be a far reach either way, and still no seat to sit upon! But makes for an interesting conversation piece. I missed your post about the knee, but glad you got some good advice. I hope it will be feeling much better soon. Hurting joints and and muscle/ligament strains/sprains/etc. are NO fun ever! Especially the older we get, it just adds to the list of aches and pains. I say take a number and wait your turn to get fixed! LOL. Truly sorry for your pain and discomfort. But please don't try to sit down in any of those chairs, or you will have a lot more pain to worry about! (((hugs)))

Hi Beatrice, My wife complains about just how uncomfortable our antique, double pressed back chairs are in the dining room. As these photos show...it could be much worse! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

My mother-in-law would have had those chairs comfortable - she caned chair seats. Beautiful work, but very hard on her hands.
The second set? Nah. Not unless I was a jointed doll.
So glad to hear that the knee is fixable and that you have advice. No mention of a support brace? I found that helpful. We were building our house when one of my knees went spla and I had to stay on it. Braced it and it worked. (And so did I.)

I can tell you that my right knee got me up last night after about three hours of sleep.

Those chairs wouldn't work for me. I don't think I could reach the tall one-grin, and I'd hate to fall through the seatless chairs- grin again. Glad there's nothing seriously wrong with your knee. Hope all the treatments make it back to normal soon. Stay warm and dry this weekend. hugs-Erika

Glad to hear the knee is improving but healing takes longer as we get older, so hang in there. Love the funny chairs.

caning those chairs would be a lot of work, i watched my aunt do it!! i see people buying chairs like that and making them into planters for their flowers. i think i may have missed the post about your knee, or i forgot which may be more likely!! continued healing, i hope it is feeling better!!

Is the sculpture meant to relate to the chairs in some way?
"Bring your own chair seat" is a new request!

These high chairs made me smile and wonder 😅
First two remind me old tradition in wedding ceremonies.
The groom and his friends were offered such chairs or traditional bed to sit ,they would fell off if were not smart enough to guess 😂
