Friday Funnies

Snow fooling around this post is about ❄️ which, many folks except ☃️may be tired of now

Last weekend, Nashua, NH, like so many other states, had a winter storm with snow, rain and then very cold 🥶 temps this week. Everyone is tired of winter weather.
"Familiar" winter scenes taken from safely and warmly indoors
Folks familiar with this blog will recognize the above locations — the view from our mill apt window and roadways visible from a 5th floor hall window. We weren't going anywhere during and shortly after the weekend winter storm — temps have stayed in the single digits overnight and 20s daytime all week. Main roadways are clear, but many side streets and city sidewalks have areas of solid ice, including the local library.
One thing that abundant snow is good are sculptures like these on display at the Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center in Gorham, NH, where we went for my SnowCoach birthday trip.
There were about a dozen of these sculptures behind the outdoor center. We were told that they had been completed a few days before. Several were quite complex, not to mention unusua,l and none identified the snow sculptor.
Patrick with his favorite sculpture, which was also the largest one. It's the closest he wants to get to a moose. Despite seeing Moose Crossings signs on the highways, we've never seen a moose actually crossing the road, thankfully.
Meanwhile, these snow folks are staying indoors outside residents' entry doors.

This truck was seen on Main Street yesterday with a load of snow and Do No Follow
Maybe, it's going to a secret snow location. (I know that's not really true, but just maybe?)

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Warm trend coming here, weekend temps in the 30s

I love the snow sculptures. It has been downright chilly here in Surfside Beach SC. The current temperature at 7:27 am is 25 degrees. After today the weather forecast calls for warming temperatures.

Winter proceeds slowly here. It is still cold, but I see that we might experience some temperatures above freezing next week.

...it has been so cold here that making a snowman or snow sculpture would be difficult. After a number od mild winters, this year is "refreshing!" Take care and be warm and well.

We haven't gotten a lot of snow, but I'm definitely getting quite tired of winter. The snow sculptures are cool though!

We have more than enough snow, but so far I haven’t seen any snow sculptures. Maybe I’m not looking in the right places.

Those are amazing snow sculptures, be we’ve had it with the snow this year. Lake effect coming down constantly. The moose one is my favorite, too. The only one I’ve seen in the wild was in the Grand Tetons. He was drinking from a stream by the side of the road. We were safely in the car.

Maybe the lorry says Do Not Follow in case it suddenly disgorges a heap of snow in front of you?
I love the giant moose.

Those sculptures are great. I'm really tired of all the icy sidewalks, my road, etc. I really want to get out walking but I'm kind of worried about slipping. Have a super weekend and Friday too! hugs-Erika

Good for some energized young person(s) to make snow sculptures. Quite imaginative. And you all were outside to take those photos too! I wonder if there's a temperature problem for digital cameras in too much cold. These are all great to see, and I'm glad we don't have any that stuck, after being warned for a week!

What a fun post! The snow sculptures are fantastic! We've had plenty of snow here, too. Some winters we get no snow at all, but we are making up for it this year!

Great snow sculptures!
We were above zero yesterday and heading toward above freezing for a week or so. Hopefully it will come across to you. Me--I don't want to see the snow melt.

Oh dear Dorothy it makes sense sad that river is frozen. It’s understandable if you guys are tired of cold and snowy weather my friend.
I enjoyed the snow art thoroughly 😍
I too liked the moose more 👌😊
Few are complex and hard to get 😇
The phrase behind truck is funny but mysterious because I watch thrillers 😂
Hugs and best wishes ♥️

Hi Beatrice, Love the snow sculptures! We actually did have a moose cross the road in front of us...just once, on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

It is just as cold here, too. I love the snow sculptures!! Too bad that they will melt! I wish there was some way to protect them from melting! My favorites are the birdhouse ones. I love the snowmen in front of the doors, and want all of them! You live in such a cheerful place!

It's been cold here in the UK but thankfully no snow. The snow sculptures are excellent, the moose is my favourite.

It was almost cold enough for snow here this morning, but none showed up. Of course, this is Florida, and snow would be unusual for sure where we are, but still, it was cold. I can imagine you are getting tired of winter. We had a week of spring, and now a week of winter again (for us), and I'm getting tired of it already too. I remember winter in NH and Maine when we lived there. I remember that it was just way too long and I sure was happy when spring finally really arrived. Those snow scupltures are really cool, and I like the moose one the best too. We did see real moose when we lived up there. One walked through our yard one time, and so did a big black bear. But right, you definitely don't want to see a moose on the highway, especially at night, because you really can't see them because they are so tall, and that's when the worst accidents happen. You are wise to stay off those roads in winter at night especially. You have beautiful views from your apartment. Enjoy the rest of your winter days. Thank you for sharing.

I am glad you have never met a moose on the road. May that continue!

Wow those snow sculptures are amazing-before retirement to Missouri we lived on the wisconsin and illinois border near Lake Geneva Wi-they had an amazing sculpture event.
Today our warm up finally begins with temps during the day above freezing-happy dance-we get warmer every day now for the coming week.
Happy weekend Hugs Kathy
