It's that time ⏰ — Clocks fall back this weekend.
In 2024, daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, endng Daylight Savings Time (DST) and returning most states to standard time.
Many devices, such as phones and computers, will automatically change to standard time, but non-smart devices, such as microwaves, ovens, coffee makers, wall clock with hands and some car radios will most likely need to be changed manually. We will be manually resetting at least 12 clocks in our apartment, some are wall clocks, others are on appliances.
The end of daylight saving time means there will be more light in the morning, but it will get dark earlier in the evening. the only states that will not change clocks this weekend are Arizona and Hawaii. The territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands also do not observe DST.
Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
We will be sleeping in this weekend

It is really quite astounding how many devices in a modern home tell us what time it is! I remember the first car I had with a clock. That was pretty fancy back then! I wear a wristwatch, but I am sure it represents the habit of a lifetime. I don’t need it any more!
It’s a nuisance and another reason to love Hawaii!
My current car makes the change, but my last one didn't and it was such a performance doing it I left it wrong half the year!
I don't understand why the world still needs to change clocks twice a year-pick one and leave it be is my opinion haha.
that is a cool clock on your apartments-I love old clocks like that. Happy November
...it's interesting that indigenous people rarely have words for short term time, but for seasons.
I prefer no changes, but think it will never happen. if it did I want it on the time that we are changing to. we prefer daylight in the morning, and a lot of others prefer it in the evening. I just hate the adjustment period. takes me about 3 weeks. its harder with dogs for sure.
Thank you for this reminder. I had completely forgot about this annoying ritual. Brief days, endless nigjts. Winter is waiting in the wings....
Sorry for the typo (nights). I'm typing on my cell phone and can hardly see a thing.
I don't have enough words for how much I hate "fall back." (I still can't adjust after jet lag!)
I love Daylight Savings, and really wish we'd just leave it that way all year. I hate that it gets dark around 4. It's depressing. I swear I have less energy cause it's dark and you think you should be in bed. I think we only have 3 clocks that need reset; but one of them no longer works. It's still taking up space on the mantle for some reason, lol.

Ontario resets this coming Sunday as well. Our legislature has decided that the province will abandon the time change when, get this, Quebec, New York and Michigan do so as well. Sigh.
Hi Beatrice, Laurie and I actually like Daylight Savings time. Going to standard time in the winter seems a bit depressing. As for clocks that we need to reset as they aren't automatically adjusting, we have 8 that we'll have to attend to. We are looking forward to the extra hour of sleep on Saturday night! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
