Friday Funnies

Vanity plates are everywhere these days, and there's so many personalized ones.
Many I've seen recently include a name, which perhaps makes it easier to find one's car.
The spellings can get creative when limited only 7 characters on a plate.
Couples seem to be together on a plate as well which got me to thinking what about if they became un-coupled.
Some plates have the owner's profession. The first one below seemed easy to figure out. It was seen in a hospital parking lot, I suspect it reads Recovery Nurse. But, the second plate has more bugs than bees.
Others show the owner's home state. As a NJ native, I could identify with the first plate below.
It's still fun to discover and, better yet, try to decipher these personalized plates. While these were relatively easy, others can be somewhat harder, some of those in a future post.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
It's been 🥵 here too, cooler &  rain 🌨  predicted in Nashua, NH

Love the "vanity plates". They are fun to figure out! I love the NH plates with the "Live Free or Die" motto AND I can see The Old Man in the Mountains, even though he is no longer looking quite like that since his face fell off, and I love the moose! I always love the Maine plates with the chickadee on them too. I miss seeing those plates down here in Florida, but once in a while I see one and I always wave. The people think I'm crazy, but that's just me. LOL. Maybe I am. LOL. Have a lovely weekend. We might start getting some rain this weekend. I hope so. I don't think it will be much cooler, however. Happy Summer!

...I like to find vanity plates, but I have difficulty deciphering some.

Some vanity plates are amusing, others are confusing.
Have a pleasant (and hopefully cool) weekend. It's in the 90's here in sultry TN.....and I'm in a bad mood with a horrible back ache. Grrrrr....

I can't begin to fathom the one you tell me is easy!

I once considered getting a vanity plate but decided against the extra expense. They are fun to look at though.

they are interesting. either FL doesn't have many of them or I don't drive where they are. I have yet to see one here. It might be that I am always the driver and can't take my eyes off traffic long enough to see them.. Ginny in Virginia sees a lot of them. if I were buying one it would have our dogs name. This reminds me of the party game where you're given a sheet with photos of vanity plates and have to decode them.

I like Boud above am stymied by RCVRYRX. Recovery X? Roman Catholic Very Rx? Our (R) curvy doctor?

You do find some interesting plates. I don't think they are a popular thing here, but I maybe just don't notice.

I think we have less of these in the UK. I shall look out for them from now on.

@ Boud, Marcia and all: To me, the RCVRYRX plate seemed to indicate a recovery room nurse/professional as this was seen in the parking lot of a local hospital. Of course, Marcia's humorous suggestions were more fun to read.😀

I started to take note of personalized plates too. However I don’t always have my camera with me and I don’t use my cell phone much.

Names are much easier to remember. I remember mine which is WFE 673 as "Wife - Sex - Seven o'clock - three times".

We see them here. Bank robbers should never drive getaway cars with vanity plates.

Wow! You have more vanity plates where you are than we do here, I think. Some of these are so cute. :)

Have a very enjoyable weekend...take it easy, relax and stay safe. :)

These plates are fun, we don't have so many here in the UK. I wish our weather was hotter! Enjoy your cooler temperatures :-)

I really love trying to figure out vanity plates. Never can figure out some but I really like the complex ones.
Stay dry and comfy at home. Today it is suppose to be 103F in our area of the greater Sacramento area..
Not my favorite temp. for sure.

I usually never come up with the right answer to those vanity plates but you are right they are everywhere.

Wow! It seems like there are more vanity plates where you are compared to here.

Fun post, Dorothy!

There are some cute ones there Dorothy! Spotting and questioning personalized plates has entertained us for quite a few miles on roadtrips. We've asked the same question you did about the ones naming couples. Another thing down here that can bring the same sorts of smiles and/or questions are Boat Names. Someday maybe I will try to do a post with some of the funnier ones.

Hi Beatrice, We also love spotting and trying to decipher vanity license plates. I'm too cheap to spend money on one though and in Tennessee its extra every year for special plates. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

It's a weird thing with those vanity plates, some I find quite confusing. We try to figure them out, but aren't always successful. Why do people have them in the first place? At least they will always remember it. Hugs - Carola

I have a habit of counting out of state license plates.

Next time I should count vanity plates. I never paid attention to them.
