Look Out the Window

As regular visitors to this blog know, the views from our 5th floor apartment window can often be quite spectacular. This past weekend was no exception.
The weather was unseasonably warm in Nashua, NH, and daytime temps on Saturday were in the low 70s.These ↑ views ↓were seen late Sunday afternoon from our living room window.

Overnight rain, which lasted well into Sunday had ushered in a cool weather front. Skies had begun to clear by late afternoon and produced a colorful view of foliage and construction.
The tall building in the background was part of the Nashua Manufacturing Company (a textile mill) and is now a storage facility. The shorter building was also part of the mill operation. The outdoor parking area is for Clocktower apartments, which is the former mill. (The apt building name is a result of two clock towers on the main buildings, both in working order.) The ramp in the middle of the above photo goes to an indoor garage parking (keyed entry, additional cost). The entire parking area was once a canal that provided water power for the mill.

As shown in the top photo, my usual vantage point is from our 5th floor living room to show a "river" view. The other photos were taken from another 5th floor window to show a "city" view.
Often, there's no need to travel far to find interesting images; I just look out a window.

By the way, we have a resolution to the mystery deposits posted about last week, details to follow later this week.

What great views...like living in a nest. I'm only a second floor nest, so look through trees all the time. I love that first one! And the beautiful spruce tree, which I imagine will be decorated for the holidays!

I love the River view. It seems so New England, at least to me. Your weather seems to be two days behind us. I had lunch outdoors at a winery on Thursday. By Sunday, we had 2 inches of snow sticking to the ground. The days of wine and roses is over till next year.

With your views I'd never get a thing done! Yiu live in an interesting place. What's the origin of the name Clock tower? Is, was, there one, for the mill?

Interested to find out what the answer to the mystery deposits is.

Wow for nice views!
At night it must be like the holidays year round. I love old brick mill buildings. The ambiance they create speaks of wonderful possibilities and open spaces.

Lovely sunset. We rarely see them because of the large hill to our west.

The combination of grey, blue, orange, makes the sky a great view to behold. The river beneath, and the buildings around, add their fair share to the whole picture as seen through your window.

Stunning views from your apartment windows. I'm sure you gaze often out them.
I do like the repurposing of the mill instead for demolishing it.
Can't wait to hear what the results of your bank situation are.

Beatrice, Love the Sunday afternoon view of the river! Great color...great photo! You do live in a beautiful place and I love the ongoing trend of recycling old factories, warehouses and offices to residential and multi-use structures. Its happening here too in downtown Knoxville... Take Care and Have a Great Thanksgiving! Big Daddy Dave

The views from your windows are fascinating, and they undoubtedly provide an ever-changing source of entertainment.

The first photo is really gorgeous - - and your river always reminds me of the Neva River in St. Petersburg, Russia.
