Friday Funnies

It's already the start of a new month and a great time for some funnies.

As many of you may know, we enjoy road trips and autos are always interesting. Here's some recent ones that amused me and perhaps you as well.

It seems, many folks like to advertise the places they've visited as these cars clearly show. Full disclosure, Grenville has a few stickers on his vehicle, but not to these extremes.
Wonder what the owners will do when they run out of space on the back of their vehicles.
Just wondering, do you also have stickers on the back of your cars?
This car owner definitely had a loose screw.

This is Labor Day holiday weekend, a federal holiday in the U.S. celebrated the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement. This weekend also marks the end of summer for many school children. It's often celebrated with parties, street parades and similar events. However and wherever you will be (or not) celebrating  . . .

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
We're off on a(nother) short in-state road trip

Thanks, as always, to everyone who left a comment on the previous post about the Cangarda yacht. This was another long-ish post, but I found the vessel's history fascinating and glad that so many others did as well.

All I know is never ever buy a second-hand vehicle that touts climbing Mt. Washington. Now I do want to know where the diner is advertising "nothing finah." Going back for a closer look. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hmmm...on the waterfront in Portland, ME. Good to know except I no longer visit Portland if I can help it. Oh my! I see that that car does have a Mt. Washington sticker.

Hmm. I would be interested to see an analysis of the mind of some of the people with this level of sticker mania. Great free advertising for some businesses. I have no stickers on my car at present, and have only ever had one which was attached to the inside window to be read from the outside. It said "Proud member of Ontario Nature." There you have my entire history with a single sticker! The sticker went with the car when I traded it in, but since the vehicle had 414,000 km on the odometer I suspect it went to the scrapyard - sticker and all!

We’ve neve4 put a sticker on our car, but I did have a magnetic one supporting my kids’ school when they were that age.

I don’t think I would do that to a poor car. I think I had one or two stickers in a=my very distant past.

you have found one of my hubbies rants. Stickers on cars. when we got married in 1985, he said NEVER put a sticker on any of my cars, and my answer was, don't worry I don't do stickers. so one small thing that we can AGREE on. LOL.
He also said never put a frame around the tag. when I stared selling RE in 1990 I put a magnetic Real Estae sign on the side of my car. OH MY! he made me take it off because after it stays on for a few months the sun bleaches the car paint and when the sign comes off it leaves a light spot. just think if these people wanted to sell the car and removed the stickers it would have to be painted. that is my husband rant and now it ismine. LOL again

We haven't had a sticker on our car in so many years. It always surprises me when people stick so many on. They do tell a story.

My last car had a bunch of stickers on the bumper. And I noticed people on the interstate slowing in the next lane to read them sometimes...they must have been really bored! Not planning to put any on my next car. That phase of my life is kind of gone.

Wow - I'd hate to have to scrape all those stickers off that car!

Have a pleasant Labor Day Weekend.

Yeah, those stickers are extreme. They are amusing but distracting.

Stickers definitely 'not my cup of tea'

Car stickers aren't a big thing in the UK. Cars might have the odd sticker for some charity or similar organisation but that's about it. I've never seen any car festooned in stickers like the ones in your photos. I can imagine they must be a dangerous distraction for any following cars!

No stickers allowed on my car. I do find them amusing though.

The only other vehicle I have seen with this many stickers was one in Alaska but it was all political. Fascinating to read all the ones here.

Wow! That is a lot of stickers! Our grandchildren started school on Aug. 31. It used to be school started the day after Labor Day. I always consider Labor Day as the unofficial end of summer.

No stickers on my little car...just dirt! :)

Enjoy your weekend, Beatrice...take good care. Spring has sprung down this way...and at present the rain is falling...not heavily..bu soft and steady. It's predicted to cease this afternoon.

We don't put stickers on our car, but when we lived in NH we had a "Brake for Moose, It could save your life" bumper sticker on our car. We subsequently moved to Kansas (temporarily) and still had that bumper sticker on the car and got a few strange looks and honks! LOL. Yes, I see a lot of stickers on that one...Becky's Diner, we've been there...they have great seafood chowdah! I did have a mug from there that said Becky's Diner on it, and I ended up giving it to my cousin Becky. She loved it. Our car never climbed Mt. Washington, but we did go up to the top on the Cog Railroad and also on the Mt. Washington auto road, but in one of their vans. It was scary enough. Okay, I've been to LLBean, I know 207 is the area code for Maine, I've never been to Sugarloaf mountain, but I know where it is and have seen that sticker many times, I recognize the Maine license plate with the state bird Chickadee on it. We did live in Maine for a while too. This was great. I love it. I'm surprised they don't have the brake for moose sticker. Now we live in Florida, and I recognize that endless summer tag. Ours is a normal generic one but it does say "In God We Trust" on it. Oh, I see The Old Man in the Mountain sticker on the NH car! Never got to go see it and now it's gone. So that sticker is a collector's item. LOL. Also love the NH tag: "Live Free or Die". This was great. Thank you for memories.

That's a lot of stickers!! I sorta remember way back we might have put a sticker on our car for a local radio station. Have a great holiday get away!

Never one for stickers on my cars. My dad never did that with his cars either. But some people seem to swear by them.

Have a great weekend!

Beatrice, That is a bunch of stickers on that first car! I've seen vehicles with more stickers but they are frequently vehicles that we would call "beaters" or "disposables". We picked up that latter term on a trip to Australia. As for us, my wife would kill or divorce me if I put a sticker of any sort on her SUV. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Loved your photos. I remember that people used to put stickers of the places they have visited on their RVs or trailers. I guess if you dont have an RV, the car will do! Have a good Labor day holiday!

Enjoy your trip, Beatrice!

I'm someone who doesn't like stickers on my car. :)

LOL! The cars we see with that many stickers always look as if they are held together with the stickers!

When I closed down my parents home years ago I had to place the suitcase one the curb for the garbage man. It was loaded with stickers from all the western states. It makes me sad yet today to think of that as my parents and the brother who put them there are all gone.
