To say that the weather here in Nashua, NH, has been far less than spring-like would be a major understatement. Here's a look at temperatures for the upcoming week.
Thankfully, there's no forecast of wet weather until late next week. It's forecast as rain with temperatures on rise.
That's better than what happened 35 years ago when a late season winter storm on April 28-29, 1987 brought heavy snow to interior sections of southern New England. The storm moved in during the morning rush hour and sent road crews scrambling for snow-removal equipment.
According to an online article, the surprise snowstorm buried neighboring Massachusetts under almost 2 feet of snow and knocked out power to more than 180,000 New Englanders at the height of the storm which caused hundreds of traffic accidents. Meanwhile, a record heat wave baked the western two-thirds of the nation with readings in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Better news is that despite chilly outdoor temps this week, I enjoyed these indoor blooms.
Yesterday, the Nashua Department of Public Works set up the two fountains on the Nashua River below our 5th floor apartment. This is the one closest to our view.
Yes, it was quite windy, but the water spray was a colorful sight.
Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Hope you have Spring in your locale

Spring is also limping along here. Aside from the temperature, it has been miserably windy.
Perhaps the fountain will dispel some of the gloom of what has not been a particularly kind April so far.
what a great idea, the fountain I mean. its lovely. that is some brrrrrr weather. ours has been perfect since December but the drought has not broken so perfect is not good.
Spring is even slower north of you here in tne Upper Valley.
We have been having really low temperatures too and even some snow flurries. But next week it is getting into the 70s. I can't wait. Love your flowers. Tulips are one of my favorites.
It’s been very cold here the past few days, but not unusual for Spring in these parts.
Love your tulips, and I understand how weather patterns are particularly fickle these days. It has to do with climate change, but it means we live in unpredictable times. Love the fountain!
We have been back and forth between Winter and Spring for a few weeks, but most of the flowers have managed to provide their usual beauty. :)
I am just so glad that we don't experience snow storms at all. I hate the cold.
Our upcoming temps look similar to yours -- finally. Your fountain is pretty!
The temps here are 10 to15 degrees cooler than yours. I'm praying for a warm-up. Winter has lasted long enough. As for the wind...🌬...enough already.
Rain and expected highs of upper 40s and very low 50s here in Fargo. More the normal spring weather for us. We were just in the 20s again. But--yes--we could still have snow here again and it wouldn't be a surprise. ;)
It really dry here in the UK but a little chilly. I've just returned from AZ and it was in the 90's there. Beautiful.
Temperatures here in Northern Ireland are between 10 and 15C at the moment. We won't get anything warmer than that for several weeks. I'm still going out in a scarf and gloves some days!
We finally had some warm sunshiny days here. Yes, it's going to change again and get rainy gray and cool. But oh that sunshine was wonderful. Hope things warm up there and get nice and sunny. Your tulips are beautiful.
Happy Spring to you! It's coming! You know it will get there eventually! I can imagine you are getting anxious for warmer weather. We've been happy to have a low of 58 this morning, but it went up to 80 this afternoon. It's actually been quite nice for us, with nice breezes. But we know summer is coming... Your fountain must be fun to watch. I love the rainbow in it! Have a blessed and happy weekend.
Tulips are indeed pretty.
The tulips are beautiful and that's a great outlook that you have. we are in Autumn but it is still warm.
This cold and wind is not spring like, but otherwise, minus the wind, this is such a normal spring. Like the kind we had 10 or 20 years ago. In a way it is a joy not just to jump into summer weather too early. Love the water spray photo. That is really cool. Have a great weekend! hugs-Erika
Mostly drab, dismal and a bit chilly in the UK, though today was a perfect spring day - back to the heavy cloud tomorrow though, and for the next week.
Nice to get a Fountain installed specially for you ;>). (It almost seems like it.) But Brrrr that's cold for late April. Hope this month brings you real Spring weather. We don't really have Spring here in SW Florida either -- but for entirely different reasons. It's hot! although the rainy season is already upon us and yesterday afternoon we had a thundershower. But here (as opposed to Oregon) as soon as the rain stops the sun comes out. Never an all-day gray.
Been so chilly here too. One nice day then it's cold or rainy or both! But, thank God, no snow!! Here's hoping May will be more pleasant ☺
Those tulips look lovely, so colourful.
We've had a cooler day today and some rain, I think the Spring flowers quite enjoyed it! LOL!
Have a happy month of May.
All the best Jan
Your tulips are lovely, Dorothy.
No spring season over here in our tropical corner of the world - just back and forth between rain and no rain!!!
It looks lovely and those tulips are beautiful! Hopefully it has warmed up for you by now. Ours was chilly too but today it is 79 degrees outside. Still chilly in the house but we've opened up all the windows :) Enjoy your week!
Your tulips are beautiful. Our weather has been glorious for the last couple of weeks, but today was chilly, I wore a coat for my morning walk with Rufus. I always enjoy your photos taken from your apartment :-)
Your yellow tulips are gorgeous! Enjoy your day my friend, hugs, Edna B.
Just doing a bit of catching up as I sip some green tea. (I won't comment on all the missed posts though... you'd be getting too many notifications! lol)
Reading of that late season storm decades ago made me feel glad we're moving along with our spring and even expecting some hot summer temps all this weekend. I'm not necessarily looking forward to that though, but the succulents will probably enjoy it. haha
I like the fountain!
