Friday Funnies

After parking my Jeep Liberty at the first parking available at the flea market last weekend, we noticed it was coincidentally in front of an exact duplicate.
Everything was the same on both vehicles from the exterior color and trim to the exterior. It was definitely a case of seeing double. The photo above is of the duplicate vehicle.
My 2007 Jeep Liberty is the one in the foreground. Differences between the two were the spare tire cover on mine and the that the duplicate showed a bit more wear for its age.

While I have seen duplicates or near so, the fact that my SUV is 14 years old makes this a not-so-often happening, especially for an exact match. My Jeep was purchased new from a dealer on the VA eastern shore. No, we didn't confuse the two Jeeps as the other was gone when we returned to ours. Sadly, the duplicate showed its age quite a bit much more than mine. Still, a meet-up with its owner would have been interesting.

Ever happen to you that you parked near/next to an exact duplicate of your vehicle?

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Sunny and warm here; a heat wave forecast next week

many times, when I had the Saturn Vue, it was every where I went. white is the best color for FL and i have aimed my remote at the wrong car and though on no the clicker is broken. 2 weeks ago, I walked up to my car and the door would not open, 3 cars down was mine, and mine is a 2007 Kia Sorennto

You do wonder what the other driver thought.

I hope you got the right car back!

We have a white Toyota Prius. There's often one that looks exactly like it in the parking lot. It's way more unusual that you got to see your SUV's twin.

Oh, I’ve tried to open other people’s cars a few times. Lots of silver Honda CRV’s in these parts.

Beatrice, Our 16 year old Avalon was traded in a little more than a month ago...so not such coincidence is possible for us. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Recently my son purchased a newer Jeep than we had. He couldn't wait to show it off to his aunt so we inviteg her to meet us for lunch. Imagine our surprise when she arrived driving the same model although it was a different color.

Too funny! I've seen similar cars to ours, even our very old Buick before our current vehicle, but one exactly like. A meet up with the owner would have been interesting!

Wow, that's freaky.

Did the owners look like you, too? Maybe they're evil clones...

I haven't owned a car in years, but I don't recall coming across anything vehicle that looked like mine, which was good because I tended to drive extremely used cars.

I see cars similar to mine all the time. But mine is pretty new. So funny to find a twin to your car.

I'm like Bijoux as I went to somebody else's car only it was a Ford and she was watching me do it.

Yes. One time I was going back to my van, and a woman was sitting in the front seat. I thought she was in my van and I got mad and asked her why she was in my van - to my embarrassment, she was in her van and my van was a few vehicles down. Of course, I apologized and left in a rush - Another time, I tried to put my key in another van - then realized it wasn't mine.

Your car sure looks new and I was surprised of its age. We ate out one time and another car just like others but different color drove up. When the got out I mentioned I sure do like my car and yours too. Yes they said the same.

Well that is amazing that happened.
No, not happened to me as yet.

I don't have a car but did return home once to find a duplicate of a friend's car parked nearby but, of course, no sight of said friend. It puzzled me for quite a while.

Very easy to try and get into the wrong one. We had a bright green Citroen for twenty years. It also had a soft roof. In all those years we occasionally saw the same colour car but never with the same roof. We would always wave to any we saw as it was such a quirky colour! B x

Oh gosh reminds me of a time in my youth....One night my friends and I went out to dinner. Our friend Erik always drove us during those days. We got ready to leave and Erik said he'd meet us in the car, he left it unlocked, he was just making a phone call. So we all went out and got into the car, then saw Erik walking to the car in front of us. He looked back and forth then came to the car we were in. But his key didn't fit in the ignition. It was a doppelganger moment and the only indication of it NOT being his car was that there was a Kleenex box on the dash that he said he didn't have. We ran out of that car all laughing, but what a coincidence that the other car was unlocked too!!!

I bet that doesn't happen very often, you have a sharp eye.

When we had our old Toyota Corolla that happened several times and once I even tried to unlock the other car;s door, thinking it was ours. Good thing the owner of that car wasn't around at that time...

So far, I haven't come across another car like mine yet. I bought mine new in 2013. A Hyundaii Tucson loaded with all the wonderful trimmins. The color is a light baby blue. It still looks new and my mileage (sad to say) is still not quite 12,000 miles. Can you tell I don't go anywhere? hahaha. You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.

Nothing close, because I am carless, but I've gone places and seen someone wearing just about the same outfit. Of course, it's New York and a lot of people are wearing black. Take care and keep cool!

I'm sure we must have parked near or next to a duplicate of our (Honda) as it's quite common.
Ron suggested back then that we get an SUV since I used to do craft fairs and the extra room might have been helpful. Looks like yours has held up pretty well. ~Mary

It’s funny when that happens! I drove a Plymouth Valiant back in the 60s and one time an exact duplicate parked right next to me while I was shopping..,when I came out, I smiled at the coincidence for a minute, opened my car door, threw my packages in the back, and backed out … just as I noticed a strange hat and sunglasses on the passenger seat. Yup. That was my life of crime…I stole a car. But I put it back, moved my packages, got in my own, and went home. Never saw another soul the whole time.
