Friday Funnies

This week has gone by so fast, as it always does for us, after returning home from a road trip. Of course, there's the usual household chores, including grocery shopping and then meal planning. The last is hardest after no meal prep was needed for nearly 6 days of travel.

Duckies on display at a flea market

Earlier this week Nashua, NH, like many other states, was sweltering through an early season heat wave of 90 degree days. Storms that rumbled through this week will bring cooler temps.

Otherwise, everything is just ducky and we're back home after our NJ road trip. I'm very
s-lo-w-l-y catching up on everyone's blog posts along with the usual household chores.

Hope that your weekend plans include some fun activities (at long last).

Enjoy Your weekend, Everyone
Our plans include dominoes & flea market outing

I had people (just 2) for dinner last night...and it felt like such a big production. Next time we'll send out for pizza! Well, from appetizers to desert...and a grocery story roasted chicken...all I did was nuke the corn on the cob, toss salad things into a bowl, and cook the garlic bread. Just saying, I'm out of shape for visitors! welcome home y'all!

I need to get the the grocery store but have been putting it off. It's a 30 minute drive each way.
There's a big yard sale at the fairgrounds here in town this Saturday and others at homes including my daughter's. It's all coordinated with maps of other locations. I need a cedar chest and more pots for flowers for the deck. I'll be on the hunt.

I find meal planning to be a stressful task, even though I’m organized.I think I try too hard to make new dishes.

Cute duckies there! No weekend plans here. We're expecting some much-needed rain. California is facing a very scary drought season, so our half-inch today is so very welcome.
Happy Weekend!

Love your duckies! We have weather for them here on the South Coast of Ohio. I agree about cooking for yourself when you've been spoiled on a trip. Imagine us after ten weeks at sea on a gorgeous cruise ship with so many restaurant choices. Coming home to cook sounded like fun until it became an everyday thing until we went back to work at sea.... Seriously, cooking at home is great. Retirement is good!

Beatrice, Nothing makes my better half happier than not having to plan and cook meals...or even to help me do the same! Sometimes we just make a sandwich or eat soup as we're too lazy to cook. The good news is that despite my love of food, neither of us gained more than 2 - 3 lbs. during the pandemic lockdown. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Here we've gotten into stage one of our latest lockdown being lifted.

Duckies are so cute! Meal planning is hard to do. I usually make do with whatever in the fridge.

Been really hot here, too, and humid. The AC is my best friend--LOL!
Enjoy your weekend. :)

A few of the real feathery duckies to be seen around here now. 90 degrees is "too hot enough" as the old farmhands around here used to say.

Like those ducks. It's always wonderful to go away from home and travel, then it's always good to return home.
I don't plan meals here at home, I just cook what we feel like which is a variety as I have most things always in the fridge, freezer and cupboards if I don't I buy those things.

Hi Dorothy :) Oh the ducks are so cute! I can imagine how hard it would be to have to plan and cook meals after you've not had to do it for a week! And the chores...those I could do without lol! :)

The ducks look as if they're waiting for something. A tasty meal? Something good on the telly? A cooler temperature?

Weather is very warm here as well. We had a couple of rainy days, but now it's again too hot and humid.

Have a wonderful week, Beatrice.

Omg! Those Duckies are so cute! Did you bring all those home with you?

I don't usually Meal plan too much, like we have a rough idea what we'll have for next two days. Hope you too had, stressfree and lovely weekend.

Hi Beatrice! Thank you for your birthday wishes! My husband and I had a nice time visiting Carol in Breckenridge and treating her to lunch and an old west museum visit. It was good to see her again.

I visited NH many times when I lived in NYC. Beautiful state! We were fortunate to see The Old Man in the Mountain before it fell down.

We lost a close friend who bought ducks like this all the time because she had a sister tell here that she needed to get her ducks in a row. She gave us some of them too.
